Those of us who love Saturdays in tiger stadium will rejoice.
Right on. I don't think selling the tickets will be a problem. Have you checked out the number of people on the waiting list each year.

Awesome. I appreciate it.
I agree, it better break 100k. That'd put us in another league.

I agree. No there's not.
I would have to disagree
Anecdotally, we go to almost every home game to tailgate. It's always fewer than half of the people we tailgate with that go to the game. We either stay at the tailgate and watch the game or go to plucker's, chimes, etc.

Don't like the design.
Has anybody in the LSUAD ever seen the Coliseum in Rome? Do they know that TS is supposed to look like the Coliseum? Wouldn't know it from the East/West upper deck expansion and these new drawings. Where are the "Arches?" There should be arches at every entrance point. They're no where to be found in the design. None of it matches aesthetically.

Why are we assuming that a possible expansion will include a large section of general seating? It was my understanding that the premise of expanding in the SE was based on adding suites and luxury seating.

doubt we'll need it now since we lost so badly to bama and all. Don't ya know the football program is on the decline?

I think you are right. The assumption is getting high dollar ticket holders into the suites and some seating will open up throughout the stadium.

premium parking to be built after the stadium addition, when demand rises and $ over Convenience is the answer.

They will also be finished with the parking garage over by the horseshoe (other side of the union) long before any se expansion would be completed.

The BR way. Only widen roads and account for more traffic AFTER things are built.

More empty seats for crappy home games, artificial turf, and more expensive tickets. Gotta love hanging onto tradition.

They will sell all the tickets. Demand isn't an issue. Whether or not there are seats filled in the 4th quarter of a crappy game is not their concern. It is about revenue and recruiting. I for one am all for it. If they weren't going to build it they wouldn't have torn down the old upper deck in the first place. Whats not to like about Tiger Stadium being the biggest and best it can be. People who like to bitch will bitch about it.Those of us who love Saturdays in tiger stadium will rejoice.
BOOM! Exactly.
Do some people actually think that there will be ANY empty seats (even in a 105,000 seat stadium) for: Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Bama, Texas A&M, and big OOC games ????????????? No, there won't be.
Will there be some empty seats for North Texas, Arkansas State, La.Tech, USL, etc. ?????????
Yeah. So what ???????????????
Will those games be on display on CBS or ESPN ??

I love TS but I think that the price of tickets has priced out the fans that made it special. In the 80's the place was louder with 80,000 fans than it is now. Hopefully if they add 10,000 seats they will be priced so that the common fan can afford them. I just don't see LSU/TAF allowing that though.

And hopefully they do what they should have done for a while now. Do luxury suites and then general admission on top of that section. Put the visiting fans up there, where they belong. LSU definitely gives the best visitor seats in SEC and we should reclaim that lower bowl in the south endzone. Put them on top of the end zone where they belong.
As for parking and gridlock, who cares. It's like any other major sporting event. Go back to the tailgate chat with friends an extra 10 minutes then leave. But I have a feeling the people who bitch about traffic are the ones that leave early. Its funny because I stay till the end and hear the Alma mater and somehow traffic isn't too bad.

It makes NO sense to leave early to "beat the traffic." We stay til the final gun, and take our time to walk back to the car. I know it will be at LEAST an hour before traffic thins out, so we just listen to the post game show on the radio, eat and drink, recline and relax, etc.
Waiting an hour or longer to leave when the streets will then become clear is just not that big deal to me.

For those that don't think that there are 30K+ outside the stadium for some games I suggest you go to any game not against a directional school and just walk around a bit. I think you will be stunned how many people stay outside, party and watch the game on TV. I would bet that the number outside the stadium has exceeded 50K at some of the better games in the last few years. We always have 1/3 to 1/2 of our tailgate group that decide to stay at the tailgate and give their tickets away. We also end up tailgating for a couple of hours after the game and traffic is never a problem.
