I just feel like the end result wouldn't have been any different

Do you remember us generating no offense in the first half of the 2011/12 BCS NCG with Jordan Jefferson?
JJ had nothing. He looked scared, confused and unwilling to accept blame for his own poor play. You try something else when that happens even if that something else has historically not been a much better QB. Even if he's been a worse QB. Playing Mett would have made more sense than keeping JJ in there. Every other fricking player on the field shares time. In situations like this, the QB can be no exception.

At 12-0 it was panic time. It could have been J Lee, Mett or even just snap it to R Shep and run wildcat. It didnt matter who JJ was replaced with. JJ obviously didnt have it and we needed to take chances down the field throwing the ball at that point. It wasnt about J Lee....it was that JJ was the hideous one and ANYTHING was better than continuing to send him out there. Bama was solid. I give them lots of credit. But they are laughing their butts off all the way home because we made ZERO adjustments and kept playing as if we quit or that we were so arrogant that eventually we'd run the ball on them.
Excellent point. Best post I've read today.

He still got more than one first down in the first half of that Nov. 5th game and crossed the fricking 50

Do you remember what JJ looked like against Georgia? Do you remember what JJ looked like against Nov 5 Bama? Do you remember what JJ looked like in 2010? There is no reason to dis Lee when he didn't even take a snap in this game. BTW he produced more in the first Bama game than JJ did this game.
Of course I remember. He looked awful. I'm not defending JJ rather than just saying I don't believe putting Lee in would have mattered in he end.
That's not to say I don't think they should have put him in.

"Do you remember how awful JJ looked the entire 1st half of the National Championship game?" ...this 2 man love affair seems to have many members

We're hypothetically idiots, but you're a proven idiot.
Congrats.
ETA: noticed a typo.

That's twice as many as JJ had in the entire first half against Alabama by himself. Oh, and JL didn't even play the full half.
But JJ has more speed with which to run that option that was eating up the Alabama D! They came ready to run that option boy.

This was not Game 1. Is it possible that the young man could have made some adjustments since that game - yes. Would it have made a difference - probably not much but no one will know which is why everyone can not seem to be able to let that go. Clearly a change needed to be made and the frustration is that there was no effort. I do not buy the "was not fair to him" excuse but that is just my opinion.
Glad the situation is iver but afraid the topic will not be over until next year......maybe even beyoud that

Well, either you are the idiot or you are Jefferson posting on the Rant. Nobody is saying the outcome would have been different with JL. Fans are upset because Miles gave up and was not willing to try ANYTHING different. This team was/is too good and deserved better than what they got from Miles and Jefferson on Monday night!

JJ should have come out at some point and let lee have a chance. FTR I don't give a frick about lee's feelings or playing time but JJ wasn't working and we needed a new approach. Basing the decision on lee's nov 5th performance is bad. The first half of the season made you forget about '09 and we will never know what would have happened monday.
"I didn't want to put lee in that position..." well, you shouldn't have put the team in the position to rely on something that wasn't working. Not scoring is one thing but not crossing the 50 is fricking time for a new approach.

I remember but I also know that this was a completely different game and no one knows how he would have responded. He could of come in an throw a touchdown or an int, but whatever he did he still wouldn't have been worse than Jefferson was playing.

You are all forgetting one factor-the same one that allowed for Bama's determination to beat LSU-Motivation!! I'm willing to bet Lee was eager to have another shot at them-he was streching out-bouncing around-had a look of confidence. He was probably seeing the recievers coming open but JJ not firing. I think he was motivated be make up for the last Bama performance!!

Les was trying to win the game. People are furious about the results, but I think it wouldn't have mattered.
I think if you got Les drunk and he was completely honest, he'd say that after looking at both teams and the way they matched up, there was absolutely no way LSU could win with a straight drop-back QB. The pocket would be destroyed. The ONLY chance was to have a mobile QB, in the hope that he could buy enough time to make a big play.
Even at 15-0 with 10 mins to go, Les was still in that position, and he chose to keep the mobile guy in, in the hope that just maybe JJ slips a tackle and makes a big play. It was still in reach. Les must have believed that going to Lee would have resulted in some combination of sacks and desperation passes for likely INTs.
If that's the case, I'm guessing the postgame handshake between Miles and Saban was some sort of "congrats, there was no way we could have beaten you today". And it sure seemed like Les said something to that effect.

Lee should have played whether or not he was gonna just chuck and duck. When Jefferson threw the int that should have been his last snap.
It looked like the coaches just gave up in the second half.
JJ was choking just as bad as Lee was for the 1st game. It happens.

What exactly did I lie about? At the point he was pulled he was 3-7 for 24 yards and 2 interceptions. Is that good?
You called anyone who wants to rotate out a struggling /rattled qb an idiot.
JJ was horrible and you should never ever settle for that. We recruit players to be ready to give us a boost when called upon...AT ANY POISTION!
We simply neede JJ to watch for a few plays just to calm him down...he was in over his head and couldn't get his head straight.
Why does everyone act like it's such a huge thing to give a break to a struggling starter?
I've seen Michael Jordan get pulled, and he is the best to ever walk on the court!

he'd say that I was hoping to keep it close enough to win it on some kind of defensive big play. I didn't prepare a plan to win the game with offense, just to maybe get one TD or a couple of field goals. I stuck with that plan until it was too late because I was afraid that a pick 6 from Lee would have scuttled my plans to win it on an interception or punt return.
