his big buddies were "big ron" (who i would be surprised if he was still alive) and gene .. i would think gene is still kicking ... also "big richard" .. who turned out to be a pretty big, laughable fraud ..

Hearing the fate of these guys is kinda freaking me out , maybe this whole change to Gospel is God's way of refocusing us to what is really important... or now God and ESPN both hate LSU

all of those guys need to re-think their styles and adapt .. i thought you made a good point the other day that message boards like this one have taken a huge bite out of the local sports talk shows .. especially the model built around callers ... we are shooting the shite on here now and fricking with each other in a way you can't do it on the air because a host gets in the way ... gordy rush and charles hanagriff are a couple of smart guys .. that is why they said very very little calls on moscona's show and more substance driven .. time for these other guys to wake up, work an eight-hour day and start doing their homework ..

I knew Baton Rouge Sports Talk Radio was on its way out the first time I heard "The Rant Radio" on 1300 AM.

I am sure he is, Its amazing that he and Dick Durbis still call Fine everyday, Well they used to when he moved to 1590. I was able a few times to get the station at the house and they would be the only two that would call, Except for New Orleans Bobby of course.

Could not agree more. I loved his show and listened every morning on my way to work. Can't wait to hear where he is going. Some station would be smart to get him back on air.

dick is still probably fine's first caller everyday ... and is on for 20 minutes .. i remember when fine would say "i have to go to break" .. dick would say on the air "i'll hold" ..

I am not tooting TD.com's horn, but because of the internet, I don't get the newspaper, I don't watch news on TV and I don't need to listen to the radio for news or opinions (we have satellite radio anyway).

The only sports radio I have enjoyed over the last 10 years was The Ticket in Dallas...they were funny and entertaining. Seems like too many local radio shows are dry and condescending these days.

Thank God for TD.com...I remember the days when my only sources of LSU info came from Hap Glaudi on WWL, and waiting for the weekly (during football season) Tiger Rag magazine to hit City News Stand.

Except for his knowledge of horse racing, Hap was probably the most misinformed sports radio personality ever, but I loved listening to Hap anyway. And, I don't even know if Tiger Rag magazine is still in existence.

i love chicken and all the guys involved .. but all kidding aside .. that show was terrible .. karma's a good dude .. but didn't know what he was doing .. he would let people call in to talk about the NBA .. and interactive radio thing was cute on the MSB .. but admin should have policed the in-game threads while the show was on on here ... these dudes would scheme calls and then actually frick with karma .. just a bad combo ..

I saw him at the Catere a bunch when OTT would be there ion Fridays. GOOD TIMES back then. And yes he is a big dude. True Story. When I 1st got on here and people fond out I was PJ the radio show caller I got bashed alot and one dude sounded like Gene, And I started some smack talk about it. Then some dude printed out what I had said and gave it to Gene. He went apeshit and came looking for me at work and all that shite.

And TigahRag...how do you know so much about the ins and outs of BR radio? Or do you wish to remain anonymous...

i can believe that .. but he has been fiercely loyal to all of the shows for almost 25 years .. and has been a great caller the whole time .. you never get/got tired of hearing his calls, unlike the other 99% ..
