Some aspects of the illegal touching rule.

It has a purpose and should still be there. I don't like the fact that as soon as ANY player touches it, it's dead regardless of the outcome. For instance, there was a cowboys game in which the WR made a great play on the ball, came down with the ball in bounds. He did all the things he was supposed to do. However the DB was also trying to make a play on it and had a foot out of bounds while trying to knock the ball out of the hands of the WR. Result: no TD . I think that's kind of bs.

On the flip side, it does serve a purpose. I.e. if the DB had ended up making the int, it shouldn't count . Or in fumble scenarios it's important to rule it dead to prevent players from just tapping back in play and such.
