The obvious differences are up front offensively, and in the sideline to sideline play of the linebackers and secondary. Last year, Patterson was a guy who could shut down one side of the field, but they gave up a lot of short and underneath stuff because their LBs would get lost in coverage responsibilities (particularly zones), and stuff to the other side where their man coverage was not as good. This year they don't quite have the Patterson shut-down, but the entire package is better, and they lose a lot less when they put a safety in man against most WRs. This is definitely a better LSU team than last year. I still think the Hogs will win, though.
