Agree. Our head coach will determine our fate, rather we are in the Big 12, SEC, or Mountain West. We'll get a boost in recruiting, but it will be minimal if we continue on the track that we are on. With the right coach, it could be significant.

I think we willingly ease up on DFW, and increase focus on East Texas and Houston.

As an example, lets take Lufkin, TX. Remove Baylor (160 miles) and Texas (230 miles) which we all know are closer road trips than any that we will have in the SEC (so 1/season).

The next 3 closest current Big 12 road trips for a Lufkin kids family would be:

Norman-360 miles
Stillwater-440 miles
Lubbock-515 miles

The 4 closest SEC trips would be:

Baton Rouge-280 miles
Fayetteville-393 miles
Starkville-460 miles
Oxford-500 miles

It is basically a wash. Yes, the kid from DFW's family would have more convenient road trips if he chooses to go to a Big 12 school. But for the other two prime areas in Texas (Houston/East Texas), it is not a factor at all.

I doubt kids will be pulling out the Rand McNally mileage charts, texasaggie. But point taken.

I do think losing the Texas series harms A&M recruiting more than it does Texas. FWIW.

Hey, I'll be a casual A&M fan in the SEC eventually. It's still Texas vs. the world. We can agree on that.

Well, 4* RB Johnathan Williams just decommited and now lists Arkansas as his top school.

This seems to have more to do with Henry Josey being in the top 5 nationally in rushing and only being a SO then anything else. With Josey being only a SO playing time will be sparse for him moving into the next two years.
