The defense gave up because Lee kept flipping the field on them and giving the other team points they didn't deserve.
The defense was basically going into goal line stand constantly having to stop someone from getting 5-10 yards after an INT which is almost impossible, and they were staying on the field too long, getting tired, and unable to make stops.
Lee kept throwing into double and triple coverage over the middle again and again (at Crowton's direction) which forced the rest of the team to just say aww frick it.
The recievers were NOT giving up on the ball, it was thrown consistently where they could not get to it, and the defenders could.
