According to Robert Smith on SC earlier.
Stated that we havent had a 'statement' game yet and this wont be it either.

Really Robert?? But Okie has? Gimme a break.

This guy goes out of his way to discredit LSU every chance he gets. I don't know what he has against us but he's awful to listen to.

LSU has beat the highest ranked team to lose a game this year. If that's not a "statement" win, beating the #3 ranked team at a neutral site, then nobody in the country has a "statement" win.

I see no reason for us to advance any further past 2/3. They will likely win out and the #2 team will have to play them anyway.

I disagree with everything else he had to say About our competition. I mean, who here has played their "statement" games? Which of those has played, just in 3 weeks, 2 top ranked teams? Huh mr. Smith?

I have no problem with OU staying #1 if they keep winning. With a win LSU would have the best resume through 4 games but being #2 is all you need. Also how is beating Oregon by 13 not a statement game?

The only reason AL or we aren't #1 is that people are split on who will win, & thus they pick OU since they don't have a test like that.

I don't want to be #1 this early anyway.
Wouldn't mind after the Bama game though.

If polls are to mean anything, you have to reward teams for their ability to win a tougher schedule. If we don't, and continue to allow public perception and meaningless beatdowns to matter, we should really start to re-evaluate whether we want conference expansion at all, because it will make OU and UT's road that much easier when who you play is meaningless.

Sure, with a win, LSU absolutely warrants the top ranking. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter for us. If we win that's all I care about.

Theres your problem. Dude hates anything and everything about Louisiana for some reason. He's a hack.

Don't know why he has such a bias against LSU.

So robert,

If college football polls come out on sept 26th, the first monday after week 4, you'd still vote Okie #1??

You must not like credibility.

*Hypothetically saying LSU wins this game*

LSU will have a 4-0 record. 3-0 vs Top 25 teams. 1 was a preseason predicted National Champion, and last years National Champion runner up.

All three of our ranked games have been on the road; Oregon in Dallas(neutral), Mississippi State in Starkville, and West Virginia in Morgantown.

Alabama played a overrated Penn St team in Happy Valley, and plays Arkansas at home.

Oklahoma played Florida State at Florida State in a close game.

It's amazing how little respect we're getting for absolutely stomping a mud hole in Oregon. Just amazing.

Who cares? At this point we control our own destiny. We win we go to the ship. Now if we drop a game thats when this gets more interesting.

Nahh, I think we're getting a lot of respect.

I just think robert smith absolutely has a disdain for LSU. They way he put it on TV almost had me laughing out loud.

Perhaps it is due to him being a graduate of The Ohio State University.
