Well stats certainly aren't the only consideration, or Lee would've been benched after the Oregon game. Both looked good against NWST, but Mett looked better.

He looks far more comfortable in the pocket, has better footwork, a stronger arm, and better mechanics. The only reason he's not starting now is b/c he's had the playbook for less than a year as opposed to a veteran in Lee.

This isn't a knock on Lee, but anyone who watched both of them can't possibly say Lee looks like a better qb. He simply knows the offense better, which Miles hinted at being the reason he was starting. Once Mett gets a bit more comfortable with the offense, I think we'll see him starting, and I see that happening within the next month or so.

Clearly, because if they were, our named starter this offseason would have never been the starter.

His mechanics were more sound. I will agree with that.

I don't see Mett starting in the next month or so, regardless of what Lee looks like, if we are still winning games. Les doesn't care what it looks like, just as long as it equals Ws.

Not so....
it is not just about knowing the offense, but about reading the defense.
Mett can overcome Northwestern, but he is not yet ready for the variations in D that AL, FL, etc., will throw at him. You can not substitute for experience.
