when do you ever go into an SEC game that you can't lose. Bottom line is in the SEC you better be ready to play every week. I do believe that with a short week playing NWS is a great advantage over playing Auburn the prior game.

This has all the makings of an ambush.
Regardless of what the press and the chronic overconfident ones among us may think, LSU is wise to always take each and every week's opponent very seriously.

MSU is no exception, they are good and getting "gooder" under their present coaching regime. Which is to say - they are SEC and on any given week if the situation is right... watch out.

They had 569 yards of offense against Memphis last year, how did that translate to our game?

They're going to be tough, it's always tough on the road in the conference. But that's about the extent of the fear or worry on my part.

I have to believe our coaches will be preparing the players for Miss. State a little this week as well as the Demons. We roll against State!

If MSU had a field goal kicker they would have beat us last year.

I hope this is a joke. They only crossed the 50 twice. What the hell kind of FG kicker would have helped them there?

This will be the biggest game for Moo St in a decade. I am at least a little worried about it.

All of this comparing and contrasting LSU with Memphis is amazing. Start comparing MSU with LSU and you'll be more insightful.

FWIW, I watched the MSU game, and MSU will be a solid challenge for LSU. MSU's lines on both sides are big, fast and nasty. The QB is mobile and can make a throw to an open receiver, too. They run lots of option on offense and the D is aggressive.

And that was the vanilla package against Memphis...

We will see what Miss State really has against Auburn. If Auburn (as badly as they played against Utah State) is able to hold them to a reasonable amount of yards, then we'll be able to see where they're really good and where they might struggle. If they steamroll Auburn, then it's going to be a real challenge.

Either way, they're a much better team with Mullen than they've been in a long time. We should be preparing as much for them as any of our toughest opponents. Hopefully the NW State game gives us time to get Lee more passing attempts and gives Mett some as well. Also gives our young receivers a chance to get some needed playing time. All in all, I'm glad we started with Oregon first rather than Northwestern. We know much better how prepared we are and have a pretty great focus from the start!

If we can't beat Miss State with our talent then that's a really bad sign for the season. Miss State has a good coach but our talent is a lot better than theirs. Top 5 talent versus maybe top 25 talent. We better win that game. We are talking about Miss State not Alabama.

Cool, they put up 645 yards on Memphis, but they also gave up 338 yards to Memphis. Our D will keep them in check while we feed them a steady dose of Ware/Ford.

I don't think we come close to losing but this is still a formidable miss st and to think otherwise is foolish. These guys turned it on the back half of last year and came into this year continuing that.

VB will give us trouble you can count on that and he has a nose for the endzone. Nineteen tds last year and three already this year in a half of gameplay.

Relf is a lot better this year and don't forget we are at Moo st.

Bigger and better D than Oregon and way bigger OL. I think they only lose to LSU and Bama this year.

P.S.
I still think we win by 10-14 though.

I do think MSU is finally a formidable opponent,
What? They've been very competitive with us the last 2 years, esp, 09. It took a miracle tip to win the game. I don't see how they could have been more formidable.
