I can honestly say that I have never bought a gun because it looks cool or I thought it made me cool. I view guns as tools, not toys. Not that it is wrong to use them to fire them simply as recreation. It's just not what I use them for.

Side note: Why are you shooting an AR prone?

Im with you, but Id be willing to bet that the majority of AR owners view them as toys and will never shoot them at anything other than paper.

Why not? Its the most stable shooting position and sometimes the situation dictates the position. And provides smallest target for enemies. But I am not getting shot at, I shoot from the prone because I shoot for accuracy most of the time. I have a couple ARs and will probably only keep my carbine to build another bolt gun because shooting long is fun.
