I agree ...we had some deepwater crawfish in one of our cuts ..i hated them and so did everyone else around here.
My ponds always had fresh water and thats the key to keeping the shells soft come summer.
But with the high price of diesel no one will do that. When I crawfished it was .99 a gallon.
Not sure I agree with this. What makes basin crawfish no good?
Prices right now should be around $3.50-3.75/lb at seafood markets/retails. Hopefully they will drop quick with this warmer weather.

They won't drop by much until after Mardi Gras.
I'd expect to pay 3.75 retail if you can even find them by March 5th but mostly in major cities it will be the boiled only option.
