That's awesome, man.
My wife and I were talking about the possibility of doing the same in a couple of years.

this is a brother and sister. Same mom, different dads. We knew the situation and they are great kids.
The girl is my hiking buddy. She loves to go hiking with me.

Not my pic
This is Haines, Ak. 80 miles north of JNU, and where the wife and I will retire. To me, it's the most beautiful place on earth.

I hate posting this after Roger but I guess we have to play the hand we were dealt.
Tired of fighting the wind in the marsh so I crashed into some grass for a while. Slidel LA.

Took the kids up the tram, tried to hike to the cross, but snow made it too dangerous. We hiked down the Mt.
The 6 year old girl is awesome. She was so disappointed when we had to turn around but as you can see, it was a bit dangerous for kids. We were about 2,000 ft above the channel.

Gorgeous 72 degree day. Greenest greens, bluest blues mixed in with the bright yellow of millions of dandelions.

How often does it reach 70s? I feel like I'd love Alaska, especially the southeastern part but I'm afraid that's it's too cold.

Avg high is in the mid 60's, we probably hit 70 10 times a year or so. 80 once or twice. I've seen 90 once in S.E. Last year was the warmest and driest I can ever remember, but the summer before was probably the rainiest and coldest.
April-July is the sunniest part of the year, it starts to get more rainy and cooler when August gets here.
We had something out at the University today. The campus is on a lake, with a bay on the othe side. Extremely beautiful place
A very well kept secret is Sitka, AK. It's about 100 miles from here but on the outside waters. Much warmer in winter, in fact Sitka gets less than half the snow Juneau gets. Temps range from 25-45 in winter.
The Sound is absolutely gorgeous. There's a dormant volcano on the horizon.

Not my pics, friends posted them in the Juneau Photo Group on Facebook.
This was taken from Mt. Juneau, Downtown looking toward the airport and the Chilkat Range. Love the airplane making a turn.
