How about "The Place" on Florida Blvd, when it was safe to walk outside at night around there.
And, "Chez Paris" on Government (see note above).

Are you talking about Cafe Mediterranean? If so, it was also at one time in a little courtyard off Chimes St. between what was then The Bayou & Highland Coffees (corner of Chimes & Highland, directly across from The Chimes restaurant). I used to love going there before night classes. There also used to be an Arzi's behind McDonald's and across from Gatti's, but it was nowhere near as good as Cafe Mediterranean.
It has reopened in the Southdowns shopping center, but it's not quite the same thing.

Yes, BR had one on Highland north of LSU, where the Jack in the Box is located now. (That location was also a Popeye's at one time, and probably something else.)

Mostly in the small towns that weren't big enough for McDonalds back in the day.

Very few will know this place...on the second floor of the Godchaux on Main St. was a little cafeteria. They made awesome reubens, plate lunchs, etc. I assume it was run by the Steinbergs as part of the store.
