To all Oregon lovers - 2 wins against winning record teams?

Now, don't get me wrong, I think Oregon has a fabulously exciting offense, Their productivity in yardage and scoring sure are impressive.
However, I would like to call to mind 2 facts
1) Oregon has beaten/played a total of 2 TEAMS with a winning record in 2010...-AND-....
2) Recall all of those years when the likes of Texas, Oklahoma, Florida beat unranked after unranked team to the tune of 56-7 or so, only to get held to very modest yardage and point totals when facing a "REAL DEFENSE"?
Here are the current national rankings of the teams they have put those numbers up against:
Losing Record opponents (7):
New Mexico (1-8) 118th defense
Tenn (3-6) 78th defense
Port St (2-7) N/A - Not FBS opponent
Ariz St (4-5) 48th defense
Wash St (1-9) 120th defense
UCLA (4-5) 83rd defense
Wash (3-6) 107th defense
Winning Record opponents (2):
Stanford (8-1) 37th defense
USC (6-3) 107th defense
Summary of achievement:
2 wins against winning opponents
1 win against a winning program with a top 40 defense (Stanford)
Granted, Oregon has great athletes, but so did all those 9 and 10 win Texas, Oklahoma, Florida and Ohio State type teams over the years UNTIL they faced teams with a real defense.
Oregon has very little to really hang their hat on despite a lot of impressive offensive performances against a host of poor opponents.
The pollsters love exciting offense, so they have not even come close to breaking it all down. Of course, going 9-0 and being one of the only unbeatens does make them worthy of being highly ranked, but the lack of accomplishments should be taken into consideration, and that goes for Stanford also who have built up thier 8-1 record against the same trash teams with losing records and/or porous defenses.

This is all fine and dandy. But to be Honest UO would run all over LSU. LSU could not keep up the pace. I don't care who they have beaten. Its the WAY in which they have beaten these teams. I think Stanford and LSU are about = and look at what The Ducks did to them.

Yeah, Oregon's opponents have been weak outside of Stanford. I guess USC still has some talent too. But damn they sure look good beating up on those crap teams. I;d love to see them in the NC game. They play in a real conference so they are still more deserving than TCU/Boise. Plus, they blew up Tenn, which is a bad team, but no one in the SEC has dominated them that way.

What's Oregons opponent W/L record?

This is why I don't understand why AU isn't #1. AU has played more games too. It just POs me!

Oregen's offense (overall) might be a little better than Aub's. Aub's defense is definitely better than UO's and the special teams is debatable. So, how exactly would UO run all over LSU?

AU ran all over LSU, so if Oregon's offense is better than AU's, I would expect similar results.

Still so much doubt.
Someone said Stanford = LSU and nobody disagreed? WTF?

says the worst poster on the board.....just like oklahoma was going to run all over lsu in 2003.....ohio state going to run all over florida in 2006.....oklahoma going to run all over florida in 2008.....yeah, yeah....team plays no good defensive teams and they are suddenly awesome.....the good news is, we will have to wait several months...and by then you will have over 100,000 posts...but i will save this one to show you what almost everyone else on this board knows...you are a complete idiot, and probably an imposter lsu fan.

wrong...they were tied with oregon at half...just like with alabama and florida, the depth of tenn killed them in the second half, and all three teams dominated the second half........you really know your football.

Nominated for the dumbest statement of the year in a single post.

I think they should make a card with Les on it. They have SVP and Corso, why not add Les?

Did you really just equate Stanford's defense to LSU's defense?
Holy shite

Your argument pisses me off! You have the opinion that UO would run all over LSU, and it seems to be based on the fact that Cam Newton seemed unstoppable against the Tigers. Your opinion that Stanford is equal to LSU is flamitory, as well. Did you notice that LSU never blitzed Newton? Do you know why not? My belief is that LSU defense did not blitz against Newton because his passing numbers were so good against the blitz before that game. Personally, I feel like LSU should have called a few blitzes in the second half, but that's just my opinion. I would have liked to see Newton suffer a few of the hits that our QBs suffered. Anyway, I digressed....UO has not faced a defense anywhere near as good as LSUs, nor has Stanford. This Tiger offense is developing, and it has plenty of depth. Our defense is deep, as well. No way Stanford has that depth. They were the dregs of the Pac 10 just a couple of years back. The friggin Pac 10 has 4 decent teams, count'em 4. The SEC West has 5 in the top 20!!
Stanford, my arse! LSU would give UO all they wanted, and more. That's my opinion!
Geaux Tigers.

Through 9 games:
713 Plays. (79 Snaps per game)
5,105 yards of offense. (567 yards per game)
65 offensive TD's.
115th in time of possesion.

I don't care who they play. That's fricking awesome.

It was Dukke V. Why argue with a tard?

They deserve their ranking and their offense is impressive. However, I doubt they could put those numbers up consistently against better defenses.
