We are the only people in the country that thinks we could beat Boise State. So yes, I'd like to play them. The thing about Boise State is, they haven't done anything to prove how good they are, but they also havent had anyone prove that they aren't good. Last year, Oregon had that chance, and Boise State spanked them. Oregon later played in a BCS game against Ohio State, who kicked their arse too. If we should be mad about anything, it's the Pac 10 pump. Oregon looks like they should trash auburn on TV, but then i remember seeing what Tennessee did to oregon's offense for half of a game.... and if tenn had some more depth and oregon didn't have a 1 hours rain break to think things over and regroup, that game might have finished differently.

I agree. Nothing to gain by beating Boise
They have some talented players, but no depth, and no real competition there.

I would like to point out something about Boise St. Isn't funny how they always start off the year against a major team. They have all off season to prepare for them. It is usually their biggest game of the year. This year was Va Tech and they nearly lost that game. Tech turns around and loses to James Madison the following week.
For arguments sake Tech was probably flat and deflated over losing to Boise and just went through the motions with JMU. JMU surprised them. Bottom line Va Tech is over rated IMHO.
So Boise beats an over rated Va Tech team to open the year like they beat Oregon last year to open the year. They get motivated for those big games. Just like the bowl game against Oklahoma. There is a trend here that some of you need to look at.
When Boise has time to prepare for a team they do really well when playing them. Call it good coaching, or over acheiving or whatever. You have to hand them credit for being up to the challenge though. This said they are going to play well against anybody in a bowl game. They will have time to prepare for it. Also they dont have a rough schedule or the usual injuries that teams from the SEC sustain from their brutal schedules.
What I want to see is Boise play an SEC team mid season. Lets see how they stack up when they only have a week to get ready. This is the real test of a team IMHO. Until they do this I won't ever acknowledge them as legitimate contenders. They are just a feel good story for some. Ok your thoughts please.

I'd love it, I think it would re-invigorate the Tiger nation- and give LSU momentum going into next season.
The ENTIRE coverage would be all about Boise and how they're such adorable underdogs. Only LSU fans would be rooting for LSU. And yet there is no other likely opponent we'd face that the talent disparity would be so big.
And then once you get to the Dome, it would be chock-full of loud, boisterous Tiger fans, and we should lay a vintage "Les Miles Bowl Blowout" on Boise, along the lines of what we did to Notre Dame. The players and coaches will have all month to get ready, and plenty of motivation for redemtion. And viola! LSU finishes in the public eye as 'big bad LSU pushing around those kids', which boosts us next year in the polls.

BassMan63, I agree with all the above. I've been saying this all season. I respect Boise and think they can compete, but like you said lets see them play one of those games mid-season.

Yes I would.
LSU wins - Boise loses luster for losing to The Hat.
Boise wins - the loss reinforces the need for coaching changes due to losing to a non AQ school in a bowl game.
Where others see a lose/lose, I see a win/win

Would You Like to play Boise St.?
No, losing to a team with 1/2 the talent and 2x the coaching would be embarrassing.
