I love staying in the cottages at Butler-Greenwood in St. F.

LINK

There's no real breakfast, there, though and the restaurants are limited, though I enjoy the Oxbow. I prefer The Cook's Cottage, The Old Kitchen, The Tree House or Chase's Cottage out of all the cottages, there.

I also like staying at Oak Alley in the cottages. You can have breakfast delivered in the mornings, I believe. You can eat at Houmas House one night.

Might be too late to find something in Natchitoches, but there are plenty of neat B&B's there and on the weekends in Dec, they do a smaller rendition of the big fireworks that they do on the night of the Christmas festival.

If you're willing to fly, the Inn at Little Washington is the ultimate for me. I do realize, however, that I'm not invited.

wow...butler looks real nice.
Little Washington is very nice but for those rates I would have to go in the fall when the leaves are turning....and I've saved up a little more
