petrino-defenses suck
pelini-cant beat texas
tressel-cant beat the sec
stoops-nope

Unless I am missing somebody, the best coaches are in alabama and non bcs schools

Except he went all Les with his clock management at the end of the Wiscy game and couldn't get a game winning FG off. Funny how the national media isn't roasting him over it the way they like to do when it happened to Les.

Oh, and I agree with the original post. Funny how when Mack Brown and Urban Meyer had 2 of the best college QBs of all time, they were geniusses. Now that they're getting to experience life without Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow, they've combined for 6 losses. It goes to show that things aren't all that bad here in Tiger land.

meyer - heart issues - wouldn't come
mack brown- past prime - not a good long term hire
spurrier- ditto
petrino- already has bad image leaving Falcons - won't leave Ark for LSU.
pelini- wouldn't leaveNebraska
tressel-nah

Patterson = lot of $ in Ft. Worth though. Not sure why he'd come here with the great fans and all....
Malzahn = possibility
Mike Leach = possibility

but Les has through next year - so sit tight.

Kyle Wittingham. 30-3 last three seasons at Utah, including 7-0 this season. Beat Bama in Sugar Bowl in 2008.

I wouldnt say all of them are in Alabama. Saban is, but do you really believe Chizik is a great coach??? He has 1 player...he can recruit but he is not a great coach. Even Auburn fans still dont know about him.

Probably because Iowa doesn't merit national media coverage. But the first highlights I saw from Iowa's loss they most certainly called it out as a "Les Miles moment".

Wasn't he the o or d coordinator for Meyer when he was at Utah?

Are you putting Chiz way up there already? I'll give you Saban, but I'm not including Chiz yet.

Texas has a down year every four years. Then he has a decent year, then two really good years. He usually has three or four year starting QBs. Garrett, McCoy, VY, Simms and they usually strugle for a year and get better. In three years, they will be in the NC race again.

Pat Fitzgerald, Al Golden, Chip Kelley, Brian Kelley (yes ND sucks, but you're kissing Saban's arse in this thread and BK is doing about as good as Saban did in his first year at bama.)

Now if your question is is there any perfect coach right now, then the answer is No.

I vote for the whole TCU staff. Seem like they do the most with the least amount of talent.

That is the definition of good coaching.

Wish we could get all of them, including the waterboys, as a packaged deal.

Just for the hell of it: Ken Niumatalolo. He don't need no stinkin' passing game.
