Do you know this to be true, or do you just think this is true.
The SEC has employees all throughout the south. For instance, the lady that is responsible for scheduling SEC softball refs is an LSU fan in Baton Rouge with season tickets.

I don't believe there is a bias, just terrible officiating in general in the SEC.
I wonder how many SEC officials are from the state of Alabama?

Yes. They want both to win until they play each other.
Several SEC Refs have homes and large loans from Colonial Bank and Regions Bank.
Just FYI Colonial Bank was shut down back in 2009 and its assets were sold to BBT bank. Bobby Lowder is not involved in BBT.

I tend to agree.

Auburn LSU 2006 is the only game I've ever felt was fixed, multiple blown calls. Not sure by who or how, but it was fixed.
That was the game where the Tiger was completely tackled before the ball got there and it was called pass interference (right at the end of the game). After review it was seen that the ball was tipped by another player 2 feet in front of the receiver well after the receiver had been tackled. Because of the tip it was deemed not pass interference. One of the biggest screw jobs I have ever seen.

I think this is a big part of it too. There is certainly human bias in all levels of officiating, that can never be eliminated. But I also think that the talent of the league's players is much higher than the talent of the league's referees in the SEC.
Of course, the league could avoid this entire conversation/criticism all-together if they hired a third party outside of the Southeast to organize/hire officials. Seems like a pretty simple solution to me.

So we should have no fixed game this year?
Is Lowder bankrupt?

I think there needs to be some better direction given to officials when watching a replay. The only reasonable conclusion to be drawn from the fumble at the goal line in the Auburn-Arky game was that it was NOT a TD, he fumbled before the goal line. The video showed that. But the refs refused to overturn the call on the field, even though it wasn't called a TD at the time!!! WTF. That looked like pretty conclusive evidence to me, and I'm a reasonable person.

Remember when we played SC a couple of years back, and all their fans said that the refs cheated for us? I wish i knew what the pecking order was for cheating by SEC refs.
I assume it is:
Bama > Auburn > ... > LSU >... > SC > ... ?
Can we fill in the blanks?

I agree ... I've never liked the "conclusive video evidence" to overturn the call on the field.
If they're going to take the time to review it, they might as well let the official make the call they way it appears and not have some beyond reasonable doubt standard to overturn it.
I also think that with all the technology today I'm amazed there is not some laser that can be used on the goal line. When the ball crosses that laser, a light or something goes off so that it's absolutely correct when the ball crosses the plane.

This is what I don't understand. With as much money the SEC is bringing in with bowl game money, tv contracts and all other revenue, why is there still a problem? The SEC should hire a company that could properly train, review calls made by officials, and continually rate each officials performance. The SEC then could hire officials from this company to officiate all SEC games. Since there is so much money involved in college football you would think that something would have already been done about this.

However, the SEC offices in Alabama argument is stupid.
Not when you find out the head video guy in the booth is an Alabama alumn and an old friend of Bear Bryant! Espcially when your team is geting an interception reviewed that could decide the outcome of the game!

Go to the SEC baseball tournament in Hoover. Look up at the SEC box, watch all the men in red SEC jackets screaming & yelling for Bama. A fact. Take a poll of all the SEC schools' alumni associations in Birmingham & ask them if the SEC offices should be relocated. The working staff in the SEC offices are primarily Bama fans/alums at bare minimum. As it would be if it was located in B.Rouge or Lexington, the staff would reflect the make up of the local town folks. Then mix in the number of years that it's been based there & you get a staff heavily made up of Bama fans/alums.But watch the SEC box at the baseball tourney & that says it all.

They want to make sure a SEC team gets as far as they can into the BCS for the money. SO if its Bama that needs a call to keep going, like last year, then Bama gets the call.

However, the SEC offices in Alabama argument is stupid.
Think about the corporate world, doesn't the location of companies have an effect on who gets hired, who gets promoted, who gets an outsourced contract? So, you think the SEC office is completely immune to locational bias. If so, you're very naive.
And by the way, think back when everyone near Baton Rouge was so up in arms about the BS replay booth ruling on PP's interception, or the 2006 Auburn fiasco. How would that have been handled if the SEC offices were in New Orleans? I assure you we wouldn't have been given "quit bothering me" pass off excuses like we were given because you'd start off with a mob scene on Poydras or wherever the SEC headquarters was located. Then every time the management people from the SEC office ventured out for lunch, church, etc., they'd feel the wrath of the community. Not saying it's right, just saying the way it would be.
And the Bammers and Barners are no nobler. Why do you think Bama got a formal apology from the SEC when they didn't get a PI call on Corey Webster in 2004, but LSU and Arkansas just gets BS? If they put out a BS excuse like they give us right in the middle of Alabama, I assure you their life would be much less pleasant.
You can run whatever stats you want to run, but I've been watching SEC football for over 40 years, Bammer has always gotten the calls. And now both Bammer and the Barn blatantly use the replay booth to cheat, yet the SEC office is "ball-less" to do anything about it because they don't want to be on the outs with their neighbors.

So then the SC fans were right in 2007, and LSU did get the favorable calls?

It doesn't seem like anyone is interested in helping me do this. I have looked on the SEC's website for stats on penalities but I can't find anything. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it!
But based on the things I've read in this thread, it seems like people would prefer to remain ignorant and cling to their emotion based stances that have no basis in fact.

I think we got some calls in that game due to being #1 at the time and the SEC's best bet.
But it's not chronic the way it is with Bammer and the Barn. I think Bammer and the Barn consistently get the calls, and yes, primarily because of the SEC Headquarters location.
