Peterson isn't even in the top 3 IMO
But if you take PP out of this D it limits the ability to be as aggressive as we have been. With him you have confidence to leave him on an island and free up other guys. When he goes out temporarily, i think we stick w/ our plan and trust our CBs. But if we were to take him out permanently, I think it changes the confidence we would have w/ blitzing etc

Sheppard by far. Stellar play and great leadership.

Gotta be Kelvin Sheppard. He's a coach on the field.

I'd love to see someone look up how many sacks and TO's Mathieu is responsible for. He has at least 2 sacks and a couple strips of the ball. And I think an INT
Tackles: 23 total (11 solo)
Tackles for Loss: 3 for 30 yards
Sacks: 2.5 for 28 yards
Interceptions: 1 for 0 yards (diving play)
Broken Up: 4
Pass Deflections: 5
Fumbles: 2 for 3 yards
Forced Fumbles: 3
BEAST.

I agree on Kelvin, but Nevis opens up his lanes to make plays and his ability to put guys in the right place to make plays. Nevis has been all-world

One of the best LEADERS ever.
KShep is a natural leader of Men.
The Alpha male in a room full of Alpha males.
After the League, this kid should be a coach.

Nevis right now is the most important, but all of the ones you named are.
Nevis is disrupting plays before they ever have a chance to develop.

It's Sheppard he calls he defense and even tells the lineman where to line up. Nevis is a beast but without Sheppard players will be out of postion.

Auburn may go for Nevis' knees.... refs better be watching
Yeah, sure. They didn't even call it when we were the home team, much less in their own hometown...

I'd say Nevis, Shep and PP in that order. However, Ryan Baker's influence has been HUGE. It's a great thing to have a fast, athletic LB patrol the perimeter who can chase down RBs and WRs in the flat. I'm convinced that if he would have been healthy and played in the UNC game, it would not have gotten out of hand.

All important. Take one out of the equation and its noticed. See Sam Mc.
exactly....you cant have one without the other...
Nevis is a best that gets double teamed and still gets through, Shep is the leader, leading tackler. and PP7 is locking it down so that Nevis and Shep can get to the QB...all are equally important...I just miss Sam!
