Good god what?

He told them he was not taking a grayshirt before they even offered him a ship. They agreed. Then they come back and ask him for a grayshirt? Especially when you have a prime candidate in a Punter that isn't needed when you have Helton and Alleman can punt too?

Makes a lot of sense. LSU wasn't given any favors by the NCAA rule change but why the hell would they ask someone to grayshirt when he specifically told them he wasn't going to grayshirt. They communicated this in his recruiting before they even offered him...

They had it on their mind he would be a grayshirt candidate, he refused, they said ok. They lied to him. Plain and simple.

Now you are a fricking mind reader?
He knew that gray shirting was a possibility, or it would not have been discussed. He said at the time that he wouldn't take one when he thought that he wouldn't have to. I think it was honorable of the staff to offer him instead of just cutting him. People change their minds. The staff gave the boy an opportunity to do that. Just fu cuking cut the lid loose? Or maybe you would like that better. What ahuminatarian you are.
But this isn't about Porter is it with you is it?

I'm going to NEED to see a link on this one before I believe you. Without a link I'll go ahead and doubt you.

Or maybe he was one of the couple of players that didn't pass the fitness. Miles did mention a couple of players didn't and he also stated it would be an opportunity for him to get stronger and prepare himself to play. He had the opportunity to observe the player since his signing, as well as get reports from Moffitt and his position coach. He had a chance to validate their decision, but he was up against a very strong punter (46.8 yard avg) versus Helton at 40 yards per punt, a highly sought-after defensive lineman and Jakhari Gore who will likely see action in the kick return game. It's unfortunate but Evan Porter had the opportunity to prove why he should keep the scholarship and one of the others should gray-shirt.

...because they obviously weren't willing to ask any others to greyshirt over him. They didn't communicate this during recruitment because they didn't intend to have to do it at the time.
