Leave the Big 12 now that Texas has backed out of the Pac10 deal? I think Colorado might, but Neb will be ok.

Nebraska doesn't. Colorado is probably better off too.

How so? They have to pay an exorbant exit fee and their athletic department is already in major debt.

I figured Nebraska kind of had a foot out the door anyway. I just wasn't sure if this move was good for Colorado.

I agree. Colorado is practically a western team anyway.

Nebraska upgraded.
From the sounds of it, the Pac10 had been after Colorado and Utah for a while, so it might work out that way.

Yeah, don't know about Colorado, but Nebraska's thrilled.

Nebraska made a big upgrade
Colorado... a bit more mixed. If the Pac-10 is willing to pay their buyout, then I think they'll probably be happy they made the move

PAC 10 adds Denver tv market = win.
Utah will get to play in a conference with an automatic bid which they have been bitching about for two years = win.
Nebraska upgrades to a better conference with more money where they are not someone's bitch = win.
Big 12 is weaker and embarrassed themselves = loss.
SEC did not change = neutral. Some will say they blocked the "super conf and that is a win. I disagree and say the SEC did not win or lose. We are number 1 and always will be. We are the same today as before.

Do we know what Colorado's buyout is?
Posted on 6/14/10 at 10:53 pm to boxcarbarney
Nebraska is laughing all the way to the bank.
Colorado is leaving a crap conference to join a crap conference. Toss up on that one.

How is this a win for Neb?
Tex, A&M, and OK will be pulling in $20 mil. now. Wouldnt Neb have been in on those spoils, also? Big 10 teams have been told their shares would not be lessened, and Neb. was only promised to get more than the $10 mil it already received from the Big 12.
Also, dont they have to fork over a buyout?
And wont they still be 4th fiddle to Ohio St, Mich, Penn St, and eventually ND? How much say will they really have?
Who becomes their natural rival? You know the team everybody lines up to buy tickets and merchandise for?

all i know is that kansas just lost 4 basketball wins a year and a football win about every other year so that kinda sucks.

No. Anything's better than being the eternal prison bitch to Texas.

Nebraska had their Big 8 success with partial qualifiers. The Big 12 voted down partial qualifiers with an 11-1 vote at the beginning of the conference (Neb the lone yes vote). The Big 10, for all of their talk of academics, allows unlimited partial qualifiers. Nebraska is in heaven.

Nebraska upgraded. Colorado, well, they may not make as much money, that has yet to be seen, but those Boulder Colorado hippies will fit in better with those Left Coast teams and their fans.
