Assuming we close out just as good as we started (Robinson, Rasco, etc.), does this class give Miles one more year to make sure they all come? We've all seen how classes can go real bad real quickly with a coaching staff leaving.

Or, I know whoever comes in brings in their own staff, does whomever replaces Miles keep certain guys such as Wilson, whom every recruit has come to love?

I would hate to see a class this amazing (so far at least)go to crap because Miles is deep on the hot seat.

If this should be on the Tiger Rant, move it as necessary

Then it will be the 2012 class keeping him.

As long as he is recruiting like he is, there's no way they are going to cut him loose.

According to some on the Rant we have the Money in hand and it's already a done deal to hire Gruden or the Pirate

FWIW I think this year will save him his job, but only it he has 8 or more wins

He's got to win double digit games in the next two years. Otherwise what's the point of the recruiting?

I know someone on the 'inside' in regards to LSU and its athletic finances....lets just say that getting rid of Miles is literally not feasible. It will costs ~$22 Million to get rid of Miles and his staff (although I am not sold that Chavis would be forced out with a new coach...maybe not even Gonzales or Porter).

Money is beginning to be saved up.....in case.....but it takes awhile to secure that kind of money--even for the wealthiest in TAF.

Consider that my tidbit for the time being.

Precisely. The dude has to frick up a lot worse than he is to get fired.

The fan base might not love him, but we are in a position that will allow us to compete for an NC year in and out with the way he recruits. If he has a 7 win season, that's when his seat will actually get hot. 9 won't do it, 8 will just get it really warm.

Well, they arnt goning to renew his contract again unless he has a BCS type of season. I can't see that happening in 2010. 2011 is a possiblity, but if he goes 6-6 this year he prolly wont get another.

Also, the top guys realized how much the contract with Miles has hurt them. A quote the way it was described: "Miles has LSU by the balls."

I agree THF. The program will steadily decline, IMO, but if the school can last at somewhat similar results for 3-4 years, then it opens up possibilities.

If LSU wins 7 games this next year....I have no idea what will happen. 9 game seasons allow TAF to ride out the storm and create the necessary slush fund, however.

Why dont they send out an email asking everyone who has purchased a ticket last year if they will donate $30 a year for the next 5 years for a Miles bailout fund? I would....

Why don't you call them and tell them that you want to do that?

If you talked to the right people at LSU and were willing to donate enough, I am sure they would take you up on it.

I am assuming they put your money into an escrow account and you can get it back if Miles were not fired.

That's how I would want it done, if I was donating.

How much do you think would be the minimum for them bothering with it? 20k?

20k seems reasonable. If someone says they want to donate 100k over 5 years....I think anyone would listen.

It would only be a drop in the bucket, but still help.

I'm not a huge Miles fan, I'll just say that now.

However, even if he fricks up so bad this year, LSU has no choice but to get rid of him...I don't think we'll land top notch coaches. Money will be a problem for LSU and then they might not even get rid of the likes of assistants as you said. How many top coaches would allow LSU to pick their coaches?

LSU will likely be in a worse situation if they fired Miles now. Believe it or not.

Part of LSU's major problem is their admin at the top handing these contracts out like candy. See no further than Miles, Chavis and Crowton. I think Chavis is a decent DC but hes not worth the almost 1 million hes getting. The assistants at LSU have us by the balls too...like BP mentioned, Crowton is making a ton of money too.

"Getting rid of a coach" does not belong on this board. All it does is turn in to bashing...

first of all asking the fans to help bail out the coach is sending a great message to the team and program. Also the season ticket holders are donating enough money to TAF.

It is pretty big hoping for LSU to go 6-6. I don't get some of you guys. It took a perfect storm of bs to even have LSU go 8-5 in 2008. Also they had a decent season that was improvement from 2008 last year.

I just find it fricking hilarious how some people on this site spin shite to make him the worst coach on the planet. It like if we neglect his first three incredible seasons including a NC and lump in a good season in 2009 with his one poor season(eventhough not a losing record) we can finally make him look just average.

Yall fricks are retarded and don't deserve to be tiger fans.
