I'm not trying to knock CJ's game because, as you say, it was pretty good. But there isn't a person alive with reasonable sense who would or should take CJ over Shaq.

Shaq resume:
LSU:
2x All American
2x SEC Player of the Year
Adolph Rupp Trophy (NCAA mens Basketball Player Of the Year)
Holds NCAA record for blocks in a game (17 vs Moo St)

NBA:
#1 overall pick in NBA draft
NBA rookie of the year
NBA MVP (reg season)
2x NBA scoring titles
4x NBA championships
3x NBA finals MVP's
15x All Star
3x All Star game MVP
8x All NBA First Team

CJ resume:
LSU:
2x All American

NBA:
#3 overall pick in NBA draft
2x led the league in Free Throw %
Nearly set the NBA record for FT % in 93/94 (whatever that's worth)
Refused to stand for the National Anthem stating that the flag was a symbol of oppression and that the United States had a long history of tyranny.

Granted CJ has every right to pick his religion and practice it but to follow that with those comments is a slap in the face of the heroic men and women who died to give him the right to make those comments. That being said, I could give two shits what he did at LSU in his two short years and am more than happy that he is out of the country, albeit only during the Japanese basketball season.

If it's entire body of work, agreed.

But if we're talking LSU career, it's CJ by a mile over Shaq, and likely a close second to Maravich.

CJ never had much of an NBA career because he was run out, so your comparison isn't fair, you don't know what he would have accomplished in the NBA.
