Are you a true Tiger fan

or are you a fan only when the team is winning?
It's obvious that the basketball team is not going to win many more games this year. It is also obvious we have a large segment of "fans" who could rightly be classified as "fair-weather".
Anybody can support a winner, that's easy. ("Anybody can love those who love them. But he who loves his enemies is truly blessed"-Jesus Christ) But the true test of a fan comes when the team is giving their all in effort and dedication yet loses the games and the fans do the same by filling the stands anyway.
That is where this years basketball team finds itself and if ever a team needed support and encouragement, it is this team that needs to look up into those stands when they walk out and see them filled with people yelling at the top of their lungs.
If you are one of those who go to games only when they put up w's, then I think it says a lot about you as a fan and even more as a person, and none of it is very good.
If you are able, get your asses to the games and fill those stands! Show the boys that the "W's" are not all that count!

College basketball is terrible. At LSU and everywhere else.
That said, I'm always pulling for the Tigers.

Oh gee let me see. You can lump a lot of assholes here into the "fan only when the team is winning" category! Wait! The (FB) team is winning and still some people show their true colors and have actually hoped that LSU would lose just so the coaches can get fired!
Yup, we have the absolute best friends in the world here at LSU.

31Tigers, I ain't sure if that was intended as a dig or support.

The Saints have replaced LSU this year as the bandwagon team. True Tiger fans, IMHO, should support the university in at least the big 3 sports. I cannot tell you who is on the Swimming and diving or soccer teams, but I wish them the best and hope they win SEC titles galore.
Not surprisingly, I think most "fans" are football only...and then when ESPN shows the college world series, they become multi-faceted and can be fans of 2 LSU sports.

Leaving now going to the game. Does that answer your question?

I'm not going to tell anyone how much of a "fan" they should be. The word just means your support a certain team. To each their own, really. Not going to affect how much I support my teams.

I thought it was a nice touch.

What if I just hate basketball? What if I never liked the sport on any level? I just would rather watch a million football games than 1 basketball game. It is a preference thing.

Dude, really? No one is giving any fan exams. And fans aren't the ones toiling on the field/court. Fans pay money to watch and cheer. Don't make it more than what it is.

Some people get all work about other people calling them "bandwagon" fans.......frick em. IMO it's the bandwagon, fairweather, NegaTigers that support LSU finacially more than the "TRUE" fans, because according to some people there are very few true LSU fans out there. This is for all the bandwagon, fairweather, NegaTigers

Only when they're winning. Who likes a loser?
I do think I'm a REAL country boy though. Growing up, I fricked everything on the farm except the tractor but I did sit on IT and jacked off.

I'm watching this shitty basketball team, but cheering for them.

I don't need you to tell me if I'm a true Tiger fan or not, Jack arse.

Whether it's football, basketball, or baseball, etc... I LOVE THE TIGERS.
I only want what's best for THE TIGERS.
Being critical or showing dissatisfaction of sub par efforts made by people who are responsible for delivering excellence and failing , does not make me any less of a Tiger fan. In fact, it actually points to the high level of success we "true fans" demand.
Being proud and cheering on current & former members that carry the Tiger banner regardless of wins or losses is a different matter as it is rooted in true Tiger allegiance.
However, being proud and cheering on Tiger failure without ever voicing dissatisfaction is as nearsighted as it is absurd. I die with each loss...hard.
Condoning Tiger failure does not make you a "true fan". Condoning Tiger failure makes you a rival.
