as a qb coach krag is probably the best available. Has experience at all levels

Depends on the player, some you have to keep a thumb on.

That's a big upgrade over Crowton, but I'm not sold on him as the best that LSU could attract.

this makes sense. did krag coach with him at the bills? i know krag coached at the bills, just not sure if he was there the same time as tyke.

I read it, but I don't just write off what happened to his offenses bc he had to run off players. A great coach can make it work at least to some extent. Kragthorpe is not a great coach imo, and LSU can do better. Miles needs great coordinators to win big at LSU.
bad coaches do not always make bad coordinators
and you have no idea how bad the team really is. they fricking suck.

He has the best resume out of the guys I've seen mentioned, or realistic guys I've seen mentioned. Now someone could always come out of left field and surprise us

krag is getting labeled as shitty based on his last two years. but it was a terrible job for him to take in the first place. he was just an awful fit

Steve Logan is a better candidate...but Krag would fulfill the QB coaching aspect our OC needs to have.

and again, you dont know some of the things that went on up here
brah, one player held up a fricking convenient store at gunpoint. bobby p didnt give a frick what his players did outside of school, as long as they didnt frick up his universe on the football field. krag tried to be the nice guy and it just didnt work out for him when he missed on some juco guys.
all hes coming in here to do is run the offense, and hes done a good job of it wherever he has been at when he has had good talent, and thats not deniable

He hasn't been an OC in 10 years.
Posted on 12/6/09 at 7:33 pm to philter
he called the plays at louisville and tulsa
Posted on 12/6/09 at 7:35 pm to Ron Mexico
Then why did he fire the OC? Fire a man who isn't responsible for failing?
Posted on 12/6/09 at 7:35 pm to philter
Don't get me wrong, I brought up his name as OC a long time ago..I'm not against him, but I don't think he's the best candidate out there. I think he would do well as OC and QB coach.

running off players bc they're thugs, ok. He mis-evaluated players, that's on him. His team was terrible, you said it yourself, that's on him. I don't like hiring a guy you have to make all these excuses for. I want a great coach, not another Crowton.

just read this, sound familiar?

Even more so than that, Kragthorpe never fully utilized the talent on his team. For example, in 2007, instead of using 6-foot-6 receiver Mario Urrutia as a vertical threat as Petrino had, Kragthorpe's offense often called plays for Urrutia to go over the middle or catch screen passes. An unhappy Urrutia wound up leaving after the season as a junior.
Kragthorpe had three different offensive coordinators and four different defensive playcallers during his tenure. His teams often looked disjointed on the field, repeatedly burning timeouts in confusion early in games or lining up in the wrong formations. Kragthorpe's calls on third and fourth downs prompted a lot of head-scratching.
Perhaps the most damning evidence against Kragthorpe is this: He took over offensive coordinator duties this year, and the team averaged 18.5 points per game, worst in the Big East and the fewest by a Louisville team since 2006. Though he came to town with the reputation as a bright offensive mind, his offenses lacked imagination and paled in comparison to his predecessor.

He followed a guy who gave them hopes of BCS birth. No one should ever try to follow that act at a small school. It has frickED written all over it.
