Inspired by the thread about him being the 23rd rated DB by Rivals, what do you think?

I think I'd take him over everyone even as a sophomore. Webster had an uncanny ability to pick off passes, but no one throws the ball toward Patrick.

Yeah...C Webb is next, but Peterson looks like an NFL verteran playing for us right now. That pick against BAMA was All-Pro material...too bad he doesn't get credit for it, but it was a superhuman play.

Whether you'd rather have Peterson as a sophomore, or Webster as a senior, if you could only have them for one year, is an interesting question. I think I'd still take Peterson.

I know it's premature as frick, but I think we could be looking at one of the greatest CBs in recent memory. If he stays level headed and injury free, he could be one of the best CBs in the NFL right away. Just an unreal amount of talent.

I remember some comments from non-LSU fans and analysts at Rivals that this kid was the best CB prospect in the modern, internet-based recruiting era when he was in high school.

Yeah, you very rarely see people with FS size and CB skill playing the position.

Reminds me of Nnamdi. He's the best corner ever for LSU, RIGHT NOW.

I'm pretty sure he'll be gone after 3. I believe that's what he had been planning even back during his recruitment.

This type of question is getting redundant. He's easily the best corner to ever play at LSU. No, he doesnt have the intersection record or anything like that, but its because his opportunities are cut into 1/4 of everyone elses bc of his dominance.

Peterson is not better than Webster is now. Anybody saying that is borderline retarded.

Peterson as a sophomore, however, is better than Webster was as a sophomore, particularly because that is the year Webster became a cornerback.

Peterson is awesome, but saying he is better than a proven NFL starter right now is stupid. You can say all day long he has the potential to be better than 90% of the starters in the NFL, and that would be just about right.

Not saying he's better than Webster right now. I'm saying he's better right now than Webster ever was at LSU.
