"Doomed to always be a 2-loss team with Miles"

I've read that on here a few times today. Mainly by Max and the rest of Miles-cant-do-anthing-right minions. And they've said it like losing 2 games is some sort of plague to be afflicted with or scarlet letter to be ashamed of. A couple of things: 1)It's just terrible logic. Like a coach who consistently goes 10-2 is somehow inherently incapable of going 11-1 or 12-0. That's actually how you win championships--consistently field very good teams and every couple years or so all the stars will align, you'll have the right group of guys and do something special. That's how Bobby Bowden won his 2 NCs. And how Spurrier won his 1. And that brings me to
2) Only losing 2 games in the SEC is still pretty damn good. I think we can all agree that Steve Spurrier is probably the greatest SEC coach in modern history. In his 16 full seasons in the SEC, he has lost less than 2 games all of twice. TWICE. In 16 years. Nick Saban is clearly a very good, if not great coach, and one of the better ones the SEC has seen. In his 7 full seasons in the SEC, he has lost less than 2 games in a season once. ONE time. Out of 7. Hell, he's only lost less than three games in a season twice out of 7.
Anyway, just a little perspective. Miles has done plenty of things to be critical of. I just don't think going 10-2 or better in 4(hopefully) of his 5 seasons here can be one of them.

If Miles can go 10-2 or better every season, build a fricking statue

..going 10-2 is like kissing your sister...
...will give you a boner
...but will not get you to home plate!!!

I agree with the OP. Miles is a good coach and I am glad he represents our school as he does. A very classy guy. If my kid were going to play college ball, I'd want him to have Miles as a mentor.

Carl - LSU has lost AT LEAST 2 games in every season since 1909 - except
1921
1933
1936
1946
1958
1961
1962
1969
1987
2003
I just try and end it there. If they can't understand those raw numbers, I don't think you and I can help them.

that's fine and all, but do you really think Miles put our team in the best position to win that game?

I agree with you completley.
LSU is the 3rd best team in the SEC this year behind 2 great teams and max and his fellow losers want Les Miles fired.
Les has this team set up for sucess for many years. If people dont like that they need to find another team to be a fan of.

And how many years has Saban not lost 2 games or more. Once!!!

Hot Carl, these douches don't remember the Mike Archer or Curley Hallman days. I do and appreciate Coach Miles. Not saying he can't do better, but can do a lot worse too. I predicted 10-2 and that is where I think we finish. Most had 9-3. I will take 10-2 every year because that will get you in the SEC championship game.
05 10-2 lost to GA in SEC Championship game
06 10-2 beat Arky, but Arky went to the SEC championship game with only 1 loss
07 10-2 beat Tennessee in SEC Championship game
09 10-2 ? Bama goes
So under Miles, if you finish 10-2, you will go to the SEC Championship 50%. This is not with standing Saban going undefeated two years in a row in the regular season, which he has never done in his career and a one loss Arky team, which featured several NFL running backs and a few first rounders too.
