no, they didnt throw the flag for another 15 seconds until after he unleashed his Dancing With the Stars audition tape.
This.
I didn't think the flag was unjustified, and I have no hate for Thomas or Shockey.

re reggie getting flagged in the NFC championship game for waving bye bye to urlacher
You are right that penalty was taunting. That still doesnt explain the flag for reggies TD after the punt return in Washington and the flag for moore's dance after his TD in London. Seems to me that the NFL is picking and choosing who to flag

wouldnt that be taunting, an entirely different penalty?

moore used a prop in his celebration.

ok so moore used a prop. What about reggies td in washington last year? Still none of this explains why players in Green Bay are not flagged for the Lambeau Leap. Once again, the rule should be enforced uniformly

Someone threw a plastic beer bottle on the field. That's what they said the reason for the flag
Nah, the announcers corrected themselves and said it was NOT for the bottle throwing.

He deserved the penalty because his celebration dance was excessive. Pierre is supposed to be a professional. He should have simply handed the ball to the referee and walked off the field. He should have let his play speak for itself. These celebration dances are uncalled for and are going to end up costing the Saints a game as a result of the penalty yards being charged on the insuing kickoffs.

Key word is CHOREOGRAPHED............PT's appeared to be rehearsed.Don't do it again.

I liked it. I wish Shockey would have stayed away and let Pierre do his dance. Dude made a sweet run on third and short and took it to the house. Dance if you wanna dance Pierre. You earned that dance.

I dont care if he dances... but when he knows he's going to get a 15 yard penalty which is going to hurt the team, thats when it's uncalled for.

traditional celebrations have immunity from the rule

This is possibly the dumbest reason that I've heard yet. Because one guy or one team started doing it a long time ago then what's being said is that it's ok for them but not for the new kids on the block. So Saints players get flagged for something that in Green Bay or Cleveland doesnt even raise an eyebrow because it's TRADITION? This league has a ways to go before they can be considered credible.

FWIW. I agree with the rule and penalty. These guys are professionals and should act that way. But I'd like the rule enforced with uniformity.
