How can I buy your argument about Miles kicking people off the team when your example doesn't even have to do with Miles kicking someone off the team?
How can I buy your argument that Miles treats star players at LSU more deferentially than lesser players when you don't cite any other star players at LSU besides Perrilloux who have done anything to be kicked off the team? At least I offered an example of Miles' disciplining a star player for not toeing the line.
As for Broussard, you can say that he was de facto kicked off the team because he knew he was never going to see the field again at LSU. Broussard did not break the law or skip class, he apparently was not rehabbing hard enough or working hard enough to suit Miles.
That is the only example I can provide of another star playing at LSU running afoul of Miles besides Perrilloux because Broussard is the only player who comes to mind. If you know of other star players at LSU during Miles' tenure who deserved to be kicked off the team, then name them.
And it is kind of a circular argument. I think Miles is the type of coach who is not going to start guys if he does not trust them. Thus, it stands to reason that most of the players who have been kicked off the team by him were not star players because they had not seen the field much due to not earning his trust. So, they could not develop into star players.

Ok. We have 2. Who else would rather Miles than Meyer? I'm taking a count, and I think I'll only need one hand to do this.
You count.....poorly.

Meyer has outperformed Miles. With the amount of talent that Miles has, it's embarrassing the way that we've played this year. Watching how Meyer runs his team, I can't help but think that with LSU's talent, Meyer would make us a lock for the BCS championship game. Saying you'd take Miles over Meyer any day because you would rather your son play under Miles because he's a nice guy is kind of like voting for President based on the fact that you'd rather have a drink with them.

Meyer has outperformed Miles.
Meyer has "outperformed" Miles only because of Tim Tebow. Do you honestly believe LSU would have gone 7-5 last year and struggled offensively this year had Perrilloux done the things expected of him and become the leader at QB the team needed? Of course not. Had Perrilloux done what was expected, LSU would have probably gone 10-2 last year and beaten Florida this year to stand undefeated at this point.
Let's see how Meyer fares beginning next season when Tebow is gone before you put him the hall of fame.

How can you even make that argument when it didn't even come close to happening? Florida has now shut us down two years in a row. Meyer does more with what he has. Miles needs a decisive advantage in talent level to compete with Meyer.

Meyer does more with what he has? Is it your belief Meyer has less talent on his team than LSU does?
If so, then what are you basing your belief upon? You certainly are not going to get any knowledgable analyst or NFL scout to agree with you. LSU's talent overall is very good, but you are not going to find many people who say it is better than Florida's.

I don't think so, but I won't bother explaining it to the less-informed.
And no, I'm not saying Meyer has less talent on his team--did you even read what I said? I'm saying that Miles needs a clear advantage in talent to succeed. I truly believe that with our talent, Meyer would have us undefeated right now. You die-hard Miles supporters will be calling for his head if he loses to Bama on Saturday. Just watch.

You don't need to. The less informed will agree with you.

Ah, the we are so talented argument. Have you even taken one glance at our OL situation? Do I need to spell out the issues there? Take a look with these themes: converted DL guys, and numbers per class. When you master that, we can move on to QB, but that is an advanced course.

i would take les miles over meyer, based on meyer's lack of character. he is suspending spikes on half a game against vandy for eye gauging. i think les miles has more balls and raises better all around athletes then meyer does, did you see tebows pathetic ecuse for spikes action. “I don’t think that we did anything in that game that they didn’t do”-tool

Irish, I won't be calling for Miles' head. I never have. I said before the season started that I expected LSU to finish 9-3. I expected losses to Florida, Alabama and either Ole Miss or Arkansas. At this point, I think LSU will finish no worse than 10-2, which, considering the inexperience at QB, the inexperience on the OL interior and a new defensive scheme being implemented, is a successful season. At least in my opinion.
As for getting the most out of his players, I believe Miles does that very well with the players who see the field. However, what Miles does not do well is put his best players on the field. That has been and continues to be a problem.
For example, I think LSU's offensive line problems could have been solved or greatly reduced had Will Blackwell and P.J. Lonergan been starting over Dworaczyck and Hebert. But, in fairness, I am not coaching and don't see these guys in practice everyday. But it sure looks to me like Blackwell and Lonergan are bigger and stronger than the two guys starting ahead of them and better suited for run blocking. But they came in a year behind Dworaczyck and Hebert and Miles clearly favors playing guys who have been in the system longer.

Yeah, you know what? I think you're right. I would rather my son play for Miles because he's just an all around swell guy... therefore he's the better coach. Makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks for helping me see the light.

The OL isn't as bad as people say it is, and wouldn't be nearly as much of an issue of discussion should JJ not need 20 seconds of protection to even consider throwing a deep ball (Auburn aside). But tell me more, Mr. Miles-supporter! I just woke up this morning and decided to watch football.

You have made me very proud. Continue to work on it, and even you will see the problems with your prior posts.

Over the past three years it comes down to ONE player...Tebow.
If Tebow is on LSU's team instead of Florida's team...what would people think of the 2 coaches?
Thats an interesting debate.
