He's a speed merchant. But I'm not really blown away by him as a football player.

Good player, but not as good as anyone else we are in on.

Girlfriend teaches at the school. From what she says, grades are a major issue with him.

How does a guy make a 25 on the ACT and have grade issues? Must be lazy in the classroom.

There are also other ways to make that 25.

perhaps the poster meant that grades are a big deal to him, not a big problem...?

For just about every LA recruit who isn't a 4.0 student, there is a poster who has a friend or relative who teaches at his school and says grades are somewhat of an issue.

In almost every instance, it means that the player wouldn't get TOPS at LSU if he was a regular student, but he will still qualify easily for D-1. It is really easy to qualify. Anyone with a 2.5 in high school and a 17 is good to go.

Well,he wanted to come here. He was really upset after the second camp, the one with all the corners competing. Evidently Tyrann was better, overall, and guess the coaches decided on Reed for the slot. CC was left out, from what I took of the whole deal, but don't know the real specifics.

Grades are OK. But with a 25 all you need is ok. I teach there too. He retook a few classes last summer which deleted a few past grades and put A's and B's in there place.

IMO, the staff are higher on Bradly Sylve(2011) and are confident about Trovon Reed, that's why he didn't get an offer.

We passed on him. Good pick up for BO who needs speed on his team big time.

Steve, you're right, but the grades don't even have to be okay. They can be downright awful. Here's the sliding scale. LINK

With a 22, you just need a 2.0

what the frick happened to the ACT? I made a 30 on it when I took it and that's not even on the scale any more.

My adjusted SAT score isn't on the scale either, but on the other end of the spectrum.

They calculate it by adding up all the sections, which is a strange way to do it. Just multiply your score by 4 for an approximation. Most LSU students shouldn't even show up on the charts.

I assume that you use the scores from the individual sections because you can use the best score for each section over multiple tests.
For example, if you take the ACT twice and you have the following scores your composite would be a 50 (just using two sections here).

Math - Test 1: 25 Test 2: 20
English - Test 1: 18 Test 2: 25
