We'll only know alot about this team if it struggles against Vandy. If we beat Vandy by 4 TDs, I still won't feel great about the season. In that case, UGA tells us more.

JJ is still very young...Miles is protecting his confidence.

Vandy will be a good test, they always give teams fits...but not exactly AU or UGA from a program stand point

Errr... not really. The Vandy game will just show we are better or worse than Vandy. Which so early in the season means nothing. I agree with knowing more after UGA.

Smart. Save Shep for the bowl game.

I think some fans will be upset if this team looks almost perfect... they will have nothing to bitch about.

Depends on which bowl game we're playing in...if it isn't a BCS game, then I'd just save him for the last game of his senior year. That way there won't be any film on him at all...in fact, the opponent won't even remember he is on the team.

Ahh you don't give enough credit. We could win 45-0 with 800 yards of offense and -150 yards on defense and some of the idiots on here would find fault with the gameplan.

They would say," that was a great game but......."

yes if its bad, no if its good. I think another bad performance is a sign of things to come and a good one will just match the bad one. I think its going to be in the middle.
I have a feeling the first half against Vandy is gonna be alot like the second half against UW, but I think there again is going to be great improvement by the second half. As long as we keep improving and building off of the good each week and fixing the bad, we will be just fine.

I personally agree, but don't believe that most will. Even if the Tigers roll over the Commodores, there will be critics who will claim that LSU didn't win by enough, that CS didn't get enough carries, that JJ didn't complete enough passes, etc.

in all likelyhood. sometimes it takes a team awhile to gel, no matter the sport. so another struggling win may not settle the matter.

Because what we saw this past Saturday on D was so eerily akin to what we saw most of '08, most of us are concerned.

I think Vandy is a pretty good ball club (borderline top 25). We'll know more but like others have said the GA game is probably going to be pivotal.

Seasons can go a lot of different directions. Sometimes teams just don't play well on the road as at home. Sometimes it takes a few games to get the chemistry right. So if you can survive those games you have chances to play for championships.

The last thing Tiger fans wanted to see at the start of '09 was an prolonged opening TD drive against us and then our defense getting abused. Not good.

I know this is not the 07 team, but i my memory serves me right we played the week before the VT game and didn't look good at all, so i don't think we need to put the barrel to our head and give up yet. The defense as a whole looked tired and lackluster. Keep in mind this was a 2600 mile trip for them and we don't know how much socializing they did when they were there. The late start time probably wasn't the best thing in the world either. That is about as far away from TS as you can get. Lets just take a breath and give them a chance, after all it was the first game of the season. Just about every game i watched this weekend was very slow starting and some finishing too.
