1. True libertarians
2. Contrarians who want to be different yet have to be governed and defined by something like a national party.
No true libertarian follows the libertarian party.
Its a very simple idea:
Take any issue. Which side is the side that gives more liberty? MOST of the time that is the side you will find the libertarians on. The exceptions to that rule is when that liberty infringes on the rights of others. Such as the trannies in sports debate. True libertarians see it as infringing on the rights of the other girls competing so they are against it.

Imagine being stupid enough to think that the Lew Rockwell and Pat Buchanan crowd is pro-trans. Those two groups are the base of support Ron Paul had in 2008 and 2012.
