This lawsuit more than any other needs to either a) go to trial and be awarded to Trump ... or b) needs to be settled for something very painful for the BBC and the British Government which backs it.

Quite the opposite, he's exposing the truth and it's hurting the BBC's feelings.
Trump’s complaint centers on how the BBC edited a clip of his January 6, 2021 speech for its 2024 documentary called Panorama. They spliced together separate parts of that speech in a way that made it appear he told supporters to march on the Capitol and “fight like hell” with him, while omitting other parts where he urged peaceful protest.
Notice I said "they spliced together," not that "the claim is that they spliced together". That's because the BBC has admitted the edit was an “error of judgment” and even apologized but firmly denies that it defamed Trump or that there’s even a legal basis for his claims. The judge disagreed with the at least that second claim by the BBC.
