Pretty clear that bin Salman is slowly trying to make changes over there to make the place more modern and open to foreign visitors and investors.

But very funny that if you make a certain amount you can drink. Very religious

I travel to quite a few ME countries and Saudi is just about the only one that didn't have a bunch of sheikhs getting hammered at the bar No doubt many were clerics too.

Worst kept secret when I lived in Kuwait was that you could easily buy alcohol on the black market, even though it was officially illegal. Who owned the black market? The Kuwaiti Emir.

It's probably so their domestic workers and ppl in shite jobs can't drink. Basically, no Indians drinking.

The western world has committed suicide against itself. America is the last hope for Australians, Europeans, etc. What they don’t realize is we are already pretty cooked, as well.

Scariest bar I ever went to was The Runway Bar in Dubai in 1996. Took the emergency squad to Dubai for fire training and at the end of the day, separated from the group and walked to bar from the Hotel. Opened the door walked in and at the long bar was a dozen full dressed Saudi's knocking back Johnny Walker Black. I kinda turned to leave and the dude at the far end sez, come over here boy and I'll buy you a drink. I knew immediately what a black guy walking into a red neck bar in Beaumont felt like in the 1960's. I stayed for about 30 minutes and told I could go.
