Does he play in an effort to get better tape out there for the draft? My guess is he will decline to play and his reasoning is to get healthy and prepare for the draft.

Which would mean we've come full circle...

He already declined the whole season anyway. Start someone who actually wants to play

Even if he were healthy (which he may be), I don’t think he would risk putting out more bad tape. He’s probably already at risk of being a UDFA.

The only thing hurt is his pride. He isn't playing another snap for LSU.

if the oline hasn't changed, and it hasn't, would you want to go out there and put out more tape when even you may not be completely healed? there is no upside to trying to make this offense work...it is made for failure.
He should just tell the scouts he was injured, get validation of that from coaches, and go the combine and take whatever he gets in the draft. He will have a hard road to prove his worth regardless of where he is drafted, but playing in the game isn't going to help one bit, and could make it all worse. Just one opinion.

Joe Burrow was sacked 34 times in 2019.

Nuss has been sacked 19. Stop blaming the Oline for Nuss making awful decisions with the ball. He's got guys open, and hes simply not throwing the ball but to the check down.

If he is injured. Which i believe he is and let's say he is healthy. If I was him I would not play. This bolw games means nothing. The Sr. Bowl and combine is where he is going to build his draft status back.

So at what point is it considered unacceptable for these players who are now being paid for their services to play at their respective institutions, to sit out in the name of securing their future earnings for an entirely different league/entity?

This is stupid. He didn’t have the season we all had hoped but he’s still projected as one of the top QB’s. Worst case falls to 4th round.

Big difference is Nuss is throwing predominately WR screens and very quick passes. Those plays are used often with an inferior O Line because you don't have time for down the field routes to develop.

I'm not defending Nuss, he's been awful unfortunately. But, you can't look at sacks and think you're comparing apples to apples.

Honestly he should be a shadow cut at this point. Let him travel but no pads on the sidelines. No way should he step on the field of play under any circumstances.

That is absolutely true. While Nuss certainly took a step back this year, he was running for his life on the majority of offensive snaps. He legitimately had only 1-2 seconds of protection for most of the games he played

I feel bad for the kid. He did it the right way and it just didn't work out his SR year. Injuries, bad O-line, bad play calling. It wasn't all on him.

With JuJuan making noise about getting snaps at QB, Frank just may say "What the hell. What's to lose?'

TBH, I'd kind of like to see it. I remember Jontre playing QB against KState being the most entertaining part of that game.

Normalize that vs snap count

LSU went 3 and out way too many times for that to be comparable

I think he'd be lucky to get drafted in the 4th round, but we'll see.

Well said. I was thinking the same thing reading that post you responded to.

It's foolish trying to compare this line to the 2019 line based off of sacks. Anyone doing so might be legitimately retarded, if we're all being honest here.
