BYU or Miami

I cannot understand how BYU is not getting more discussion. Everything was about Miami or ND which seems very clear to me due to the h2h win for Miami.
BYU has 2 wins vs teams who finished in the top 25:
@ #17 Arizona 33-27
Home vs #15 Utah 24-21
Miami has 1 win vs teams who finished in the top 25:
Home vs #11 Notre Dame 27-24
The only team to beat BYU all year finished in the top 4.
Miami lost to 2 unranked teams.
BYU finished with an 11-2 record which is already better than Miami's 10-2 record. According to the committee's ranking of Alabama, getting throttled in the conference championship game doesn't count so BYU's actual record was 11-1.
BYU was ranked one spot ahead of Miami until the conference championship game, which again, supposedly doesn't count.
What am I missing?

Having ND at 9 like they did really screwed things up.
Should have never happened. Alabama should have never been ranked 10 to ND’s 9. Miami shouldn’t have been ranked so far behind the team they had the same record as and a head to head win.
ND’s gravity pulled Miami up into the top 10 and past ND and BYU.
If ND was treated fairly all season, people wouldn’t have been stuck on ND vs Miami vs Alabama. Alabama and BYU could have both just stayed where they were after their championship losses.

Duke beat Virginia and they needed to have an ACC representative in the playoffs, even though they claim that had zero consideration.

Wouldn't matter to me. Neither one is a serious contender.
12 is too many.

BYU is very ND like.
They played a real team 2x & never even competed with them
ND also beat “good” teams like USC & Pitt

Vanderbilt, no one discussed them and they had same resume as Oklahomo other than OU beating Bama at Bama.

Miami got in as a solid for the ACC and ND got effed over for a BS Bama team that has no place in the playoffs. Your gripe should be with Bama being in over ND.
The reality is the committee consistently flipflopped its logic but clearly had a pre-determined expectation of who was in as long as Bama beat Auburn. That is the sad part.
Bad losses don't matter anymore. Only the narrative the broadcasters want.

Slight difference when you are saying all else equal.

BYU, Utah, Texas and Vandy would have rolled the ACC this year, including Miami.

The same reason Notre Dame got left out: the War on Religion. Truly this country is going to hell.

I can't see where ND has any argument at getting in. They lost to Miami so they're behind miami. BYU is also ahead for the reasons in my OP. Texas should also be ahead of ND because of who they beat. ND has 1 quality win this year: a 10 point win at home vs USC.
Who you lost to shouldn't matter as much as who you beat imo bc anyone can have an off day or a QB injury could result in one bad week. But either way ND is out.
If you care more about who you beat:
Texas has one more loss due to a much tougher schedule but has wins over #7 A&M, #8 Oklahoma, and #14 Vanderbilt
If you care more about who you lost to:
BYU only lost to #4.
Hell even Vandy has an argument over ND. They have the same record as ND despite a much more difficult schedule.
