Those games don’t help with CFP and could hurt you.

Look at Texas as an example.

SEC has a requirement to schedule one P4 opponent. Who is willing to schedule us at this late date?

The CFP has just made it very, very clear.

If we can beat them in Death Valley Jr. with BK, we can beat them at home with Lane. I normally agree with your reasoning though. I just think this will be a really exciting environment and those are more limited these days in Tiger Stadium.

Lose 1st game of year and already likelihood of making CFP is significantly reduced.

There is no real advantage to beating Clemson.

A W seems to be.a W no matter who it is against.

Not like Clemson should be that good. Maybe will turn it around but not a good trajectory for that program.

I hope they play it.

Didn't hurt Alabama to lose to Florida State

Bama made it, despite losing to a team with a losing record week one.

Miami, A&M and Oklahoma benefited from big ooc wins.

It can work both ways, besides Clemson wasn’t that good.

If Texas wins that game, they’re in if they go 6-2 in SEC.

Vanderbilt went 6-2 in SEC & had no chance to get in

I would keep it, but I don’t expect LSU to keep games like this going forward. With the 9 game SEC schedule I think these type of games may die out.

This cannot be extrapolated to any team not wearing crimson
