Pardon if this has been discussed, but why do we have so few signees for this class? We have 14 while most others are in 20s and even 30s. BTW, our class is #11 on ON3 but on rating per recruit we're #1. What's up with that? Captain Crown?

It almost as if we fired a head coach less than a month ago and hired a new one a week ago.

Lane said in his presser. Quality over quantity.

Early signing period - not final signing period.

BK was lazy, thats why we only had 14 recruits, plus the fact that we have a new coaching staff with only a few days under its belt. The fact that we have the #11 class with only 14 recruits should tell you the quality of our recruits. Others have signed 25-35 players. We have the #1 value per recruit. Meaning the total of our recruits outranks everyone elses

Who all did we lose after Kelly was fired?

First the coaching change. Lane said his press conference that he was not going to just sign players because they go to a certain high school. We can address that later on.

If you look at who they signed in the high school ranks, they have I think the highest average rated overall if not top 3 even with the schools that signed 35.

We are going to have fun in the portal. Remember Lane specifically wanted the defensive backs that we had this year, but they could not afford them.

It's not like we had 25 commitments, then BK fired and we went down to 14. Not sure we lost any due to BK firing.

OT Bryson Cooley flipped to Bama. I don’t know if he was processed like Darby.

It’s not so much that they lost recruits. It’s that there was no coaching staff in place making a push for new commitments over the last couple of months.

You seriously think Cooley got processed? Your mental gymnastics for that rationalization is award winning worthy. We don’t have an O line and you think we would process him.

He said at his introductory press conference that he will recruit who he thinks will make LSU better. He believes in quality not quantity

You can only make so many appointments to meet the Head Coach. He was so busy rushing off to his Tee time that he couldn't even get on the phone for 2 minutes to chat with a recruit.

We processed a couple of dudes that we could have signed. We didn’t want 25 Freshmen.

We want kids who can contribute in the first two years, otherwise we’ll see you in a few years and take you out of the portal when you are ready.

We’re like an NFL set up. NFL game day, teams have 46 active players from the 53 man roster. Then they have up to 17 players on the practice squad.

I can count 40 or so guys on our projected returning roster that would be “active” on game day. There’s only 10 or so spots on this “active roster” to be in the top 50 of who is actually going to play in a meaningful game.

At max, 3-4 Freshman, no matter the class are in that rotation. If we hit at that rate next year, that leaves only 7 or so spots. So we are looking for 7 prospects to contribute for next season plus 7-10 more who can compete to improve over guys currently in our top 50.

Where are you going to find those 15 players for next season? Hint: It’s where they are older than the age of 18.
