I am surprised Baker stayed but to Baker the Tulane HV job and LSU DC job are the same, a stepping stone to a bigger role. I think he was sold on (1) win a NC at LSU with a great staff that he knows; (2) total control over the defense (which is likely why Coach On isn’t on staff); (3) a nice raise but still probably less than Tulane HC; (4) s healthy NIL budget and recruiting advantages at LSU to have a top defense; and (5) convincing that LSU DC and Tulane HC are comparable launching pads.
