ole miss called Lane’s hand and forced the issue. LSU was perfectly willing to wait and said so in public. OM backed Lane into a corner and held hostage his continued coaching OM. Lane saw the value of what was in front of him and made the decision. Now, media blames LSU and Lane making both out to be the villains. The fact OM had to go with Golding tells you they really thought they could strong arm Lane into staying and had no contingency.

No the reason he isn’t coaching them, now and in the future, is because he knows they won’t win championships there. He left to build a dynasty, not a contender

Yep, Mcafee needs to take his pick axe diamond story and shove it up his arse. Ole Miss is never going to reach the diamonds, dumbass...and Lane knew it. That's why he had to come to LSU where he could actually reach his goals....and the ESPN crew damn well knows it.

Lane was leaving, regardless. The only issue was the timing, Ole Miss did, in fact, force him to make an immediate decision thinking he would stay. If not, they wanted him out right then and now. Worked to LSU’s favor with the early signing period and other coaches. Ole Miss screwed themselves, actually.
