A New York teen has been arrested and charged with setting a homeless man on fire as he was sleeping.

Hiram Carrero, an 18-year-old from Manhattan, was charged with attempted murder, three counts of assault, criminal mischief, arson and reckless endangerment, the New York Police Department said. The cops made an arrest after releasing surveillance video of a suspect in the disturbing incident.

Investigators said the suspect boarded the No.3 train at Penn Station just after 3 am, and approached the 56-year-old homeless man who was sleeping. He lit the homeless man on fire and then left the train, police said.

The victim was severely burned in the attack. Law enforcement sources told the New York Post that authorities found charred skin on one of the seats of the train.

Fox News reported that the man told authorities his pants were set on fire. He was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was treated. The man is expected to survive.

The footage released by the NYPD shows the suspect wearing a gray jacket and a black hat. They believe Carrero boarded the train briefly, set the man on fire, and then got back off the train.

They are just here to burn the homeless that Americans aren't willing to burn. They are culturally en -"light"- ening.

We need to fix immigration and keep violent criminals in prison. The solution is simple.

Wonder what his bail will be?

I also wonder if he's part of that 7k that NYC released without notifying ICE.

Lastly, I'm curious how this will affect the free and fast campaign Mamdani desires for NYC Transit.
