Didn't realize #19 TT is ranked below LSU in Kenpom and Net rankings. They barely beat Wyoming at home last game by 2 points. They do have one of the top players in the country in Toppin but they are not a good FT shooting team. Also beat a good Wake Forest by 1 and got drilled by 30 against #1 Purdue. It's a road game but a winnable game if LSU shows up offensively and doesn't turn the ball over. Nwoko needs to stay out of foul trouble also. Excited to see what they can do against top competition on the road. I expect TT to be favored by 4 points.

I work with some Texas Tech alum and while they typically turn their attention to basketball this time of year, they are all focused on football.

We definitely should expect to compete and possibly win this game.

After watching Dedan Thomas take over the BC game like he did, had me wondering how many games will we be in where he is not the best player on the floor? Not many. Great PG always gives you a chance. I do expect us to drop this one but recover nicely against SMU

Is this an impressive undefeated streak already? The BC game got ESPN/2 coverage didn't it?

Either way Im pretty glad. Looks like Coach Mac has the talent to do it so far

Yeah, they haven't looked as good as the preseason rankings suggested thus far. They played decent in a close loss at Illinois, but otherwise haven't been great. Like you said, Wake Forest was a toss-up and they got blasted by Purdue. The responded by blowing out everyone's favorite darling, UNO, but then had to hang on to beat a solid, but what should have been far inferior, Wyoming team at home.

It's a neutral site game (Fort Worth). But obviously closer to Lubbock than Baton Rouge. Maybe some LSU fans in the DFW metroplex will show up.

The power ratings (which are used to set the lines) have LSU and Texas Tech basically even. Theoretically that means at a neutral site this should be a "pick'em game, or the favorite only being a 1.5 or 2.5 favorite. It seems like Texas Tech being a 4 point favorite would suggest the oddsmakers don't quite like LSU as much as the data suggests.

IMO, I think Texas Tech will open as a 2.5 point favorite (just a guess)

I hesitate to get too excited at this point as BC is 4-5 and does not look all that good and maybe Depaul was decent and we crushed them, but outside of that the competition has been poor.

Tech will be our best barometer.

I guess that depends on your definition of "impressive". For the most part, LSU has generally dominated the competition in these first 8 games. But the competition doesn't appear to be very strong. None of the opponents have been top 100 teams.

ACC Network. It wasn't a marquee game.

Saw them play Baylor last year.

This is a different team, not as long and athletic but still solid.

Agree but BC had been playing very good defense even in their losses so it was a good test from that perspective. And don't discount the UCF win. They are playing very well and we handled them pretty good considering it was our first game.

Texas Tech will be favored. And it will be essentially a home game for them.

If the Tigers somehow prevail on Sunday it could be the start of something big! SMU next week is no slouch, but we got em in New Orleans

Yes, they were slow out the gate, maybe we caught them at the right time, but they have been pretty darn good after barely squeeking by Hofstra at home and getting whipped pretty good by Vandy. They even beat A&M on the road.

It was an exhibition game, LSU sat a couple of folks and maybe they did too?

That's pretty neat like these "neutral" sites in college basketball early in the year drums up so much regional interest I think the tigers will beat SMU in NO
