They definitely wanted him and they are not very subtle about it. Reece was pretty much begging him to “wait until a better job comes up.” Like man there is only 4 jobs that could arguably be better and we know which one you are referring to.

They're really funny, almost like women because they throw out that Lane won't be here long, because he'll end up at Bama.you give them a solid rebuttal about him not leaving LSU and they revert to him not being a good coach.

The Bama job opened up as soon as Saban retired. So that was the time to get Kiffin if they wanted him. I think them passing on him then will become the equivalent of LSU passing on Spurrier.

The entire college football world knows Lane Kiffin is a great coach and will be extremely successful at LSU, which is why they're all pissed that he left Ole Miss. He's going to bring championships to LSU.

I agree that he is not likely to ever return to Alabama. I was very happy to hear Lane say LSU is the best job there is. He won’t leave unless a NFL job is offered that he wants to try and money will not be an issue.

They are delusional if they don't realize that Alabama and LSU are pretty comparable jobs in terms of the ability to win, resources, finances, facilities etc
LSU had a larger NIL budget this year than everyone but Texas and Ohio State.
