I understand the Ole Miss melt. I remember well the sense of betrayal I felt when Saban announced he was leaving LSU to go to the Dolphins not long after telling us he was going no where. Granted, it was during the playoffs but it still burned deep when it happened.

To this day I have a love/hate/respect for Saban. He’s truly one of the greatest football coaches in history and appears to be a very likable and admirable man, yet I still waver between awe, gratitude, and bite me.

That’s my empathetic post for the day.

I’d love for someone to explain a single time LK has left a program that would compare to this gay misery fantasy of what him leaving LSU would be

Everyone knew Saban was going to the NFL eventually. He tested the waters every year. And everyone knew Kiffin wasnt going to retire at Ole miss. Biggest difference is Saban was all business and Kiffin is loving the attention and fueling the fire on social media.

What do you mean, it was us this year. What do you call Kelly mailing it in.

I never had high expectations for Kelly so I didn’t feel any sense of loss with him.

I remember when Saban took Alabama job thinking he would job hop after a few years. Wrong.

This very well could be Lane’s destination job

Yes, we knew Saban was going pro but the sense of betrayal and loss was still great.

LOL. If Lane leaves LSU he's leaving for an NFL job he couldn't refuse and if they are offering him it's because he is kicking arse. And if you were butt hurt because Saban went to the NFL then that is a YOU problem. I never understood the Saban hate. And I won't hate Kiffen if he leaves for an NFL job. LSU will always be able to compete and win with a competent coach who is committed. Les and Orgeron showed that. Even Kelly his first year. So when Kiffen is ready to leave there will be other great up and coming coaches that would love to come to LSU. But to not want Kiffen because you are worried he'll leave...................

Who doesn’t want Kiffin because they’re worried he will leave? I’ve not seen that on here. Maybe I missed it?

He appears to have mellowed some over the years. I had a couple of interactions with him when he was at LSU. He was polite, but it was forced. He clearly would rather have been somewhere else. Not hating on him, I'm not a people person either and I would hate that aspect of the job too. Just an observation. It wouldn't surprise me if he was a little bit on the spectrum.

Lane will not leave us unless we fire him or his wife hates BR.

Saban said he’s biggest mistake was leaving LSU. Every thing he accomplished at Bama could have been done at LSU.

Kiffin took Saban’s advice to go to LSU. Why would he ignore his experience and leave?

I don’t blame saban for trying the nfl. What hurts was that it was Christmas Eve and most schools that hiring cycle had a huge jump on us. I think ole miss knew deep down that lane was going weeks ago. Timing is way better for ole miss than what we had when saban left.

Yeah I hated Saban so much. He literally spent years beating us into submission to were we all respect the bastard. Hopefully Lane can beat all his haters into submission too, be dream scenario if that happens.
