I know the real answer is 3.5%.

Seriously, BK was good on paper, but obviously there were issues we didn’t know about.

Kiffin seems to be amazing on paper, coupled with him being younger and seemingly much better at relating to today’s players. I’m not a natty or bust guy in this era, but LSU should contend for the playoffs almost annually. 3-4 rounds make winning it a crapshoot like March Madness. For my expectations, I’m seeing maybe a 10% chance this thing doesn’t work.

I just see no way he flops

If he’s as motivated as he was at ole piss, we got a few championships coming our way

80% chance he makes the playoffs during his tenure
60% chance he wins a Natty during his tenure
30% chance he wins multiple Natties during his tenure
10% chance we are BK level good but never great
5% chance he is worse than BK.

Im less worried about a flop with him because of a few reasons:
-He has won in this conference recently. No need to figure the lay of the land and acclimate to the demands of an SEC job.
-This is a new ball game and Kiffin knows how to play it WELL! Age of NIL and the portal...no worries... Kiffin has shown he THRIVES in that.
-he's won in our conference with less resources than us.

Could he flop... yea sure maybe. But I just don't see any blindspots questions marks.

With Kelly he had never held an SEC job and we were all kinda questioning how he would do with the portal... no question marks here

I believe that Kiffin, down to his fricking bones, wants to be talked about in the same breath as the all time greats. He wants to be bigger than Monte and on the same level as Saban. I believe that's the exclusive reason he came to LSU. Whether he can achieve that or not remains to be seen, but I believe he sincerely wants the level of greatness for himself that LSU fans want for the program.

No matter how it ends up shaking out, I feel like that's really all you can ask out of a major coaching hire.

lane is a very, very good coach.

like all good coaches he will have to make some really good hires, which he has a history of. BK had a history of mixed hires.

He is going to be better than BK because he's a better overall coach and understands todays game. Hes also not lazy, a little narcissistic and wants to be a national champion so bad he left a team who had a chance at one. That tells you how he views this job and how bad he really wants to win, win big, and win consistently. (it also tells you he knew that ole miss team didnt have the horses to win the big race)

He has said he wants a statue built of him outside a stadium. LSU is going to be home to that statue.

We are better off with Lane Kiffin coaching this team in 2026 than if Brian Kelly were coaching in 2026. THERE IS NO OTHER CONSIDERATION.

It’s just not that high. It’s hard to win a NC.

We've gone 75% on our last four coaching hires before Lane, though.

33%. That means … he’s a 2-1 FAVORITE to succeed here.

And with huuuge, legendary, historic upside if he succeeds.

Relatively mild downside if he fails.

That’s a bet you degenerate gamblers would jump on every time in your sports bet phone apps on your phones while you’re supposed to driving.

his first job should be dusting off the LSU binder in football ops and throwing it in the dumpster

First, you have to define flop...and if it's 1st year or overall
What is flop in 1st year?
A. Not making CFP in year one
B. Not making top 25
C. Going 8-4
D. Going 7-5 or less
My answer for year one flop is C

What is flop overall (say within 4 years)?
A. Not winning a Natty
B. Not making it to the NC Game
C. Not a top 5 team
D. Not a top 10 team
My answer for OVERALL flop is B

Hard to say with any specificity right now.

How does his staff round out?
How much of a roster rebuild do we need?
QB, C, TE, LB & S

Kiffin has to be as good as Miles or O when they took over. With NIL & transfer rules, he has the opportunity to assemble a commensurate roster.
