I’ll be the first to eat crow on woody. I believed the narrative that he was a smart, competent AD who was ousted due to messy politics. Turns out he was just fat, lazy, and overpaid like BK

I said on the coaching changes board, I have it from a pretty solid source that part of the reason Woodward was fired, was that he was not even going to consider Kiffin as a replacement.
Which makes sense, considering Kiffin is not far off from being a football version of Will Wade.
Woodward really was an atrocious AD.
I've been asking for him to be let go the moment he did not stand behind Wade. It could have happened in a better way, but he 100% needed to GTF

I don't think Woody was a fan of any Sexton client. No way I'd have taken another Trace Armstrong client after Lincoln Riley went to USC. When that happened I knew we were screwed. That showed me Woody was another overrated Catholic High alum.

I’m terrified to think of who we would have ended up with had Woodward stayed AD. I’m thankful for certain things like Jay and Mulkey but he definitely had to go. From an outside perspective he doesn’t appear to have been the easiest person to work with himself.

Seems to be the case. He nailed Mulkey and Johnson and apparently just hoped Kelly would get off his arse at some point until he had to fire him.
