There is no point in tanking and this city needs some hope in a brighter pelicans future.

Splash hire?

Definitely need to make some tough moves this offseason. They need to find 2-3 more undervalued guys like Saddiq Bey and go after Kessler. Time to stop ignoring the two biggest deficiencies of this roster.

According to this board before Willie was fired, James Boreggo was going to be the 2nd coming of Prime Phil Jackson and player's like Zion were going to start playing like Last Dance MJ.

Careful what you wish for ... Dumars' idea of a splash hire at head coach might be Isiah Thomas.

It's been a fun psyop on this board where the same people who were the loudest about Willie being the problem are now the loudest about the roster sucks and Borrego is trying his best.

The roster does suck, Willie did suck and Borrego sucks too.

Too true. I hope no one really thought Borrego could lead a turnaround or would be the future coach. We need a full reset.

I don't know how, but they have to turn this roster over, like now. No one should be safe. We need a total cleansing.

Last night, our top 5 highest paid players didn't play (Hawkins makes it 6 out of our top 10). That's almost 150M out of our less than 190M payroll sitting on the bench against the Lakers. It's insane. We gifted them a victory. There is honestly nothing to break down..

There is absolutely a point in tanking. The point isn’t necessarily to lose but losing happens when players are sold for assets, and that’s 100% what the Pelicans should do. Sure, they don’t have their own pick, but they can collect picks from other teams.

So far this seems correct.

I’d trade Zion for MPJ straight up if the Nets would do that. Adding MPJ’s shooting and availability would make us a little more watchable

I think trading Zion for assets that may actually try to play and win would change the culture. I think that is the problem

There's not too many posts or threads that doesn't start with "we"

Doesn't make much sense, don't get why people can't say "Can the Pelicans make a splash hire and some moves?"...

Borrengo was a splash hire given our poverty development league franchise status. I fully expect Joe to let him run it back next season as no coach worth their salt is coming here because of “unprotected first”.
