Sexton: "If Lane announces LSU, can he still Coach SEC Championship/playoffs?"

Ole Miss AD: "No"

Kiffin: "I am still undecided. I am still under contract. Talk to you later"

Ole Miss AD: Blank stare, and does nothing

This honestly feels like a game of who will blink first for contractual reasons.

I was also wondering if the SECCG is still technically considered part of the regular season.

You can tell that Carter is a cuck after watching him on the sidelines yesterday. Lane will get his way 100%

Lane has $36 million of leverage. OM and LSU have nothing.(He knows LSU is all in)

This drags out as long as he wants.

Carter would pull the extension offer effectively making the decision for him.

Why do y’all think it’s “fire or nothing at all”?

It’s entirely possible lane is trying to force OM to blink.

OM can’t fire him, so in theory he’s got them.

Pulling the extension does nothing. All bluster, no effect.

According to their on3 guys, there’s a “strong rumor” of an announcement being made at 3pm.

The second he agrees to something formal with LSU, OM can move on.

How long will LSU be willing to wait without an agreement...? Huge risks for all the parties involved right now.

I think there’s been a rumor of an announcement at almost any time at this point

Lane has both schools by the balls unless LSU plays hardball and walks away.

OM can’t fire him, and they can’t really force him to not coach the team.

That extension has no power if he’s leaving. Don’t act like Carter wouldn’t make a new one next week either lol

Which gives us the answer we need to conduct our coaching search if Lane leaves. That’s all we really want/need is an answer one way or the other

Lane is playing both schools off each other.

Either way, LSU loses in this deal. We need a young and up and coming coach.

If we pull our extension offer, we will begin searching for Lane’s replacement because at that point, we know Lane isn’t going to stay for less money than he would be getting from LSU

Honestly I think both schools would / should be looking for other options already regardless.
