If Ole Miss wants Sumrall, they'll double down on forcing Lane to make a decision. They may back off and let him finish coaching. But, they can't wait too long and miss out on replacement coaches.

Ole Miss is correct in saying he can't coach if he accepts the LSU job.
Considering the rivalry between LSU and Ole Miss, that is a huge conflict of interest.
This is like Arnsparger recommending Mike Archer to LSU so thag he can hire Spurrier at Florida.
